Only people being punished right now are the fans. Took my family of 4 to a Cardinals game recently (one of the lesser expensive teams in the NFL. Came out $820 dollars lighter, all in. You frickin' kidding me?

Its no different in baseball. Corporate dominance and the little man gets shut out. I can't stand how the league is designed with no rules to create parity of permissible action.

Report: Yankees seen as favorites to sign Shohei Otani
After winning the Masahiro Tanaka sweepstakes in 2014, the New York Yankees could be back at it again this offseason.

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reported Thursday that many Yankees rivals see them as the “supreme favorite” to sign 23-year-old Japanese phenom Shohei Otani. He also adds that a Monday deadline has been set to determine whether or not Otani will be posted by his Nippon Ham Fighters this winter.

what happen to him last season? he took less ABs and threw less innings than any previous year. He regressed in each as well. his power went away too.

when Eric Thames was in the KBO he slashed .349/.451/.721 (OPS of 1.172, lol) and he put up numbers no where near that when he came back to the MLB.

I'll gladly watch Otani from afar, don't want that crazy contract on my time for a guy who almost seems like a novelty at this point.

plan is for ohtani to be posted friday. interested teams must commit to paying the nippon ham fighters 20M. ohtani hasn't been about the $ but the teams with the most international $ to spend are tex (3.53M), nyy (3.5M), minn (3M), pitts (2M) and sfg (1.8M).

Perhaps but he has to get here first. Right now, all reports are that he wants to do both. The AL is perfect for that.

mariners big/main goal is to sign ohtani. same as many, many teams. it's said to be bordering on "obsession" for some of these teams. hard to blame them. really. $300M player for pennies is a worthwhile endeavor
