Except for they beat the dog crap out of everybody - good luck with down playing Jokic and Denver's rise - pretty sure they'll be in the finals again next year and I don't see anybody beating them because they're an actual team
First, literally NO ONE has attempted to downplay jokic. So let’s eliminate a made up argument. He’s the best player in the nba.

Next, they very well could make the finals next year. They could also not make the finals. They aren’t, imo, the 80s lakers or the mj bulls. They are a well constructed team, like I’ve said all along, that will remain a contender. But I’ll repeat, I don’t see dynasty and I don’t see team that is mikes ahead of everyone else.

Agreed. Denver had the easiest path to a title in modern history.

Also, you can't beat who you don't play, maybe Denver would have beaten a great team... if they'd ran into one, but they didn't. Their path to the #1 seed in the west was one of the easier ever, only needing 53 wins, their path to the finals had then face an 8 seed, an injury riddled 4 seed, and a 7 seed... and then they faced an 8th seed from the East who's players couldn't miss contested 3s in the previous few rounds... and then against Denver went ice cold.

Credit to them, they were the best team of these playoffs, without question. If I were one of their fans I would laugh in the face of those who discount the run, I similarly think the questioning of the Suns run to the finals in 21 was inane.

This isn't a juggernaut, this isn't a potential dynasty. They were the team that stayed healthy and didn't beat themselves. The Suns could have been that team the last 2 years, but they failed at one part or another, so good for Denver. The breaks went their way and they capitalized. If this season were played 10 more times, as is, I think they might win once.

Denver is like the 2004 Pistons or the 2011 Mavericks. They had a moment, they didn't mess it up and they won. I don't see them having that moment again.
The 04’ Pistons took the peak big-3 Spurs to 7 games the next year and were probably a blown Horry inbounds play from going back to back. The 11’ Mavs were a great team as well. They swept the defending champion Lakers then nearly swept the Thunder before beating Miami.

I think the Nuggets were a great team and I’m not sure why the opposing seeding matters when the better teams were lower because of injuries and not caring about the regular season.

This Beal trade actually makes trading Ayton easier. Instead of hunting for a miracle trade where you get a PG, Big and depth (which wasn't likely) now your trade can be more focused. Asking for a big and bench depth isn't unreasonable and much more doable for Ayton.

People overestimate the Nuggets imo they are good they are not a Dynasty this is just nonsense…
Quick, someone tell me who Denver has at PG.... exactly. They had a perfect storm playing #8, #4, #7 & #8 for a title. They were 3rd qtr injury to CP from being in trouble. If you a shooter and looking to get open shots to help any future contract, Phx is the place to be next year

Jamal Murray, Ish Smith and Reggie Jackson. Don't forget Nikola Jokic.

Explain to me why seeding matters? You think it would’ve been a more respectable road had they faced Sacramento and Memphis?

You're on the wrong board to try and claim no one knows who Denver's PG is. Jamal Murray is one hell of player who came into his own in the bubble, where he was Denver's #1 and not Jokic. Things have changed and Murray tore his ACL towards the end of the 2021 season when the Suns swept Denver. Murray's absence was huge for Denver. They waited for him to get healthy because they believed they had a championship level team with him, Jokic, Gordon, and MPJ. They proved that assumption was correct this year.

They walked through the playoffs having lost just 4 games in 4 series. Doesn't matter who they played, they were never in trouble. They're coming back a year stronger and more confident.

Ish and Reggie barely played at all the entire playoffs. Brown was playing PG but doesn’t even matter as Jokic is the PG/PC playmaker for them. He is the reason Denver is good but they are not some unbeatable dynasty, way premature for that kind of talk!

Then, maybe you should quit talking about it?

If teams are reaching out to us instead of vice versa now, that could help us get a better-than-expected return. Because it puts us more in a position of power in negotiations.

IMO, other teams suddenly realize, the Suns are no longer dealing out of a position of weakness after the trade for Beal.

Whereas before, I think teams were waiting to pick over the Suns carcass for Paul and Ayton.

That’s what I keyed into as well. I wonder why the Beal deal was the trigger for the additional activity . . .

Not a bad hypothesis, but I think that would only hold true if there was little competition for Ayton. If there have been multiple teams desiring him that would be the primary driver for activity imo.

I figure it shows that we might be willing to take bad contracts off of teams hands for a win-now team. I guess?
That’s as good a guess as any. Swap out bad contract for yours. If the fit is better with their bad contract(s) it makes total sense as we are fully committed to the spend now anyway.

You just answered the questions for the Suns then... Book, Beale & KD. Ish Smith and Jackson are clown shows. Ish is G league and Reggie is done

No. I answered your question.

Ish Smith and Reggie Jackson have had solid careers.

Keep Ayton now. Dude is gonna feast with this spacing. Remember him two years ago. His touch around the rim. Just fill out the roster now. And please get rid of Payne.

Yeah, this is my take. Ayton was believed to be the only path for the Suns to bring on new talent and other teams felt the Suns would be desperate to make a move, getting Beal for a salary dump really changed that dynamic.

Problem is Ayton is just as likely to pick at his food then feast.
Yeah this move makes moving him make even more sense IMO. He is at best 4th option on offense now. Is there any chance he will be satisfied with that role? The only way he stays at this point (especially if they are getting multiple offers) is if they are truly sold that Vogel will be able to get through to him.
