Our window is small and we can or could win a lot of games the next few years but we need an inside linebacker. Dwash first game back was monsterous last year against Carolina. Look it up but it was pretty impressive. Our offense may be better but why not give up a 1st or 2nd rounder for a decent linebacker. We are built for the next 2-3 years anyway.

Who is on the trading block that you would like to see the Cards go after? I don't follow the entire league close enough to know which premium guy is up for trade. How much would you be willing to give up in trade?

depends on the player and the compensation needed.

Likely no as the player wont be worth the compensation. teams dont trade star linebackers often.

No.

The price of a high draft pick + the contract usually isn't worth it. If I thought we were one LB away from the Superbowl, I might change my mind.

If the right guy is available, sure. I can't think of anyone right now who's any better than Foote that's available to be honest.

I think Pat Angerereererggrrrr, Desmond Bishop, Paris Lenon and James Harrison are free agents.

Rather take a flyer on one of them.

I'd kick the tires on Harrison, but I'd be shocked if there was any tread left there.

Why would we even consider signing an over the hill OLB who's gonna command a nearly $1 mil/yr salary?
The Cards need to sign the only guy with some decent coverage skills in Ernie Sims ASAP imo

I'm content to see how it plays out. I feel no need to panic at this point. it's very likely they move one of the OLBs inside to see how that works out. There is also the release of vets at the end of every training camp. A lot of people have their panties in a wad based on how poorly the remaining ILBs will not be able to compete in pass coverage. If I recall TEs were catching passes last year like our hair was on fire! :D

Its not like DWash or Los were great in coverage last year. The Dline had a lot to do with their success last season and will likely have an impact this season too. The run defense will probably be better than last year with Minter and Foote. Bowles will probably scheme pass coverage with safeties and CBs to make up for deficiencies at ILB. There is good depth at these positions as well as a wealth of skills.

I'm not saying the loss of Dwash doesn't hurt but there are other options out there that need to play out before I will get to the panic stage. The only way a trade gets worked is if you find a team that needs to fill a position the Cardinals have an excess and has excess at the ILB position. To me this makes a trade unlikely. I don't see the Cardinals throwing away a draft choice for what could be a stop gap measure.

A combined 6 interceptions and 29 pdf's are great coverage stats for ILBs.

Sure if they are willing to trade CJ MOsley or Ryan Shazier. I am sure that can happen.

Point well taken Duck however I still believe a good deal of that had to do with pressure created by the pass rush. I recall at least 2 of the INTs caused by heavy pressure by the pass rush. I am not saying there will be no drop off but I think the drop off will not be as severe as many think it will be. I also don't believe losing DWash and Los is as bad as say losing Fitz and Floyd.

I think you're wrong but were gonna see.

It just amazes me how Los still doesn't get the credit of how good he really was in Cardinal Red!!!

Losing D-Weed and Los is like losing your running backs and not your Wrs. Losing Campbell and Dockett would be the equivalent of losing our WRs in my opinion :)

I disagree. RBs have never been as instrumental to the success of the Cardinals as their WRs or DWeed and Dan$by. At least not since OJ Anderson left. In fact the most successful regular season ever, 1975 when the Cards won 11 games, their leading rusher was a FULLBACK!

BTW: Hey, aggies learn to shelve the trash talk until after the series is over. :p
