In a van...down by the river.
I wanted us to move our tradable pieces before their value hit the basement.

This is my stance as well.

And Chap, please back off on that kind of talk. You should know that having a losing team isn't what fans like myself want.
I would have prefered if the FO had showed more foresight for the future BEFORE it had to come to this.

Although,i will admit that i cant stand the basketball system in place here(as you well know) and i'm quietly hoping that as a result of the front office "F"ing up this team that maybe......just maybe there will be a 180 degree turnabout in terms of system & philosophy as a result. Unfortunately i doubt it.

I desperately want to be fully on board with this team again someday.

Hill makes hardly anything, so it's not like he would get us much in return. Maybe a late draft pick, because honestly, if fans are so willing to trade him for a ring, that's all anyone would be able to offer us.

As for Nash, I'm not sure how much he would garner us even if he were playing at an MVP level. Most teams see a 37 year old point guard making 13million, not an NBA superstar worth young talent and picks.

All true, probably. I have no idea what either of them could bring us but I strongly suspect they had more value in July than they do today. Also, had we moved all 3 of them in July (and not signed Hedo) we'd have added some picks and our own draft position would be looking pretty secure right about now.

Assuming we don't find a way to turn this around, we really do look to be one of the 2 or 3 worst teams in the NBA. Our record won't reflect that though as we chalked up some early wins that this squad wouldn't have been able to duplicate.

I think we're one of the 2 or 3 worst teams in the league RIGHT NOW, let alone at the end of the season. If this was a regular year and a different team than the Suns I'd say it would be great. But with the lockout looming and our horrible luck with the draft, I'd say this is A LOT worse than everybody thinks.

Nash & Hill could at least net the 09-10 most improved player Brooks and rookie PF Patterson.

Its better to get proven players than gamble on draft picks.

Really? What makes you think that? The Rockets aren't going anywhere either, what possible reason would they want Nash for when they have a young PG already in Brooks?

Uhhm, I think you just said what I said. The way we're playing right now, we are one of the 2 or 3 worst teams in the league. HOWEVER, our early season wins will somewhat hide our ineptitude. OTOH, it may not be too late. If we moved Nash tomorrow I'm not sure this team gets another win this season.

Well, you all wanted the team to tank. Looks like you got your wish.

If we are tanking, why was Nash playing? Like the guy before said, we're not technically tanking cause their still trying to win but they just suck too much.

Works for me though. Better chance rebuilding & better chance of top draft pick. I am only gonna check the game score at the end of it from now on and just hear about the rest from you guys. That way I dont have to watch the toruture.

Their not out of it. Their very close to it or is in the playoffs. They might as well try to get better.

They just need one more big player to play along with K-Mart and Scola to be successful. Nash could easily be that piece.

And they already have a nice young PG in Lowry. If they trade for Nash, they dont have to worry about extending Brooks' deal cause Nash has two more years so by then Lowry will be ready to take over and could probably learn fom Nash.

Not going to watch games. Just cannot bear it.

I understand your feelings. It really hurts to see the Suns in this state. What I do of late is watch the game while the TV is on mute (or low volume) while playing a video game. Another method I use is pull up the ESPN box score or gamecast on the internet and check in on the game periodically. It's sad that the Suns are not putting in the effort to be competitive.

For me...it's like if someone says "whatever you do.....don't look down" and then 2 seconds later you look down.

That is how I am with the Suns. Either that or I am just a glutton for punishment.

Last night I got home and started watching the game on about an hour in delay. Midway through the 2nd quarter, I accidentlly pushed the live button and it skipped to the end of the third quarter. Needless to say, I stopped watching.

Trading Nash would indeed probably result in a collapse of historic proportions, unless the Suns can obtain a quality starting point guard in return. The problem is that we likely won't get much for Nash other than a draft pick in what will possibly be one of the weakest drafts in recent memory. Dragic has regressed considerably, and let's face it, he wasn't really starter quality material last season either. He was solid, but not nearly consistent enough even last year. But he's not the only one to blame for our bench's demise. Those constantly changing rotations are making it difficult on the team to develop and maintain some form of chemistry.

What's sad is that our bench played much better earlier in the season, during a difficult stretch of our schedule, outscoring the opponents' benches on nightly basis. So, while a major part of our struggles can be directly attributed to off-season moves and the failure to replace Stoudemire with anyone remotely qualified, the team has actually gotten worse as the season progressed, especially since the Orlando trade. The Suns no longer have to tank in order to get a high draft pick, they can simply carry on as they are.

I've noticed that just about every team the Suns play presses Dragic hard every time he touches the ball. Until he makes them pay for this he's going to struggle.

i think i can relax about my fears of being a 30 - 40 win team for years. we're just going to flat out suck for years. i thought we'd be relatively poor this year. but even i didn't see THIS suckage . . . .

If we had some kind of the same ownership,gm,coach, or any resemblance or history of our former selves, ...I would beg to differ.
But you are right maestro.
