Shouldn't QB's be running to come here?

Assuming Kurt retires, I found this note interesting today.

8. If Warner does retire, quarterbacks around the league should immediately have their agents demand a trade to the desert. Donovan McNabb, who lives in Arizona in the offseason, could put up huge numbers with those receivers in that weak division. That's almost as big a layup as the opportunity Brett Favre saw in Minnesota.

I am not advocating Mcnabb should come here, or is even a realistic option but you have to think all things being equal, whether it is a guy under contract who wants a trade or a upper caliber UFA or RFA, doesn't it seem like they would come here.

Just think - we never would have considered Warner a stud when we signed him and surrounded him with talent. Could a guy like McNabb or Matt Schaub or Cutler be Super Bowl winner handing off to Beanie and throwing to our WR's???

QB's only become available because they have issues, but because a guy has issues, doesn't mean he is hot garbage. Sometimes a change of scenery can make all the difference. Again like with Kurt.

So any suggestions on what type of QB we might be able to get?

I'd love to get McNabb (I don't get the distaste for him in Philly), but I don't think he's leaving the Eagles.

I don't know who else is going to be out there, though.

i'm all for trading for McNabb or Vick. I think both would do well in a Cardinal uniform.

i will disown this team if they bring in mcnabb. his career is one chokejob after another. he has been surrounded with all sorts of talent and has proven time and again he cant win the big one.

Yes, he's had Brian Westbrook for a long time, but he hasn't exactly had WR talent until the last 2 seasons...Heck, the one year he took them to the Super Bowl, he only had 1 good WR, in T.O....The likes of Freddie Mitchell, Na Brown, Terrance Small, Billy McMullen, and Hank Baskett did not strike fear into any defense...unless it's the Packers with a 4th and 24th situation.

I'm not the biggest McNabb fan, but I do believe he would do well with the Cards. I think Whis would definitely run the ball more, since Donovan isn't the most accurate thrower, especially on short timing routes.

Truth is Warner was a stud before (remember the Greatest Show on Turf?) Where is Mike Martz now? Without a job, IIRC. Leads me to believe Kurt was the genius, not Martz.

He needs the right system, tho. (remember him with the NY Giants?)

I'll bet any amount of money our receivers don't look half as good with another QB back there (especially Breaston). They certainly didn't look this good with Matt Leinart at QB.

When Warner lost his job in St. Louis I thought he was done. Then when he lost his job in NY I wondered why we would bother to bring him in. Boy am I glad nobody listens to me. Hpefully some of Kurt's intensity will rub off on Matt.
