Is there a cornerback coming out worthy of a top 5 pick? I sure like our Junior who is coming out for the NFL from Arkansas. He is probably a 2nd or 3rd round pick. Name Ahmad Batman Carrol. Extremely fast sprinter on the track team. All SEC freshman team. An in your face one on one cover guy that not many people can out run. Perhaps not tall enough at around 6' 185 but he can jump and can hit.

I like this guy simply because his name is Batman.

Seriously. That's why I hope we draft him.

But I think Derrick Strait from OK is probably going to go in the top-10 unless his stock falls dramatically (or someone else shoots up the boards, which seems to happen every year).

If it comes down to speed I do not see anyone running faster than Batman.

That may be, but speed isn't the end all when it comes to covering a WR in the NFL. You said yourself Batman is a second-round selection.

IMHO there is no CB likely to be picked in the top 15. In order, I think it goes DeAngelo Hall; Chris Gamble; Derrick Strait; Will Poole; Daunte Robinson and Nathan Vasher. All but Vasher might be 1st rounders

But Batman can do so much more than run. His leaping abilities along with everything on his utility belt to knock down or pull in the ball. He'd make one hell of a CB!!

Batman's Name

Batman got his name by leaping over the center and tackling the QB in a youth football game.

I'd take him in round 2.

Pfft.

Hell, I could leap over an 8-year old center and sack a 9-year old QB.

 ;)

The best corners coming out appear to be:

DeAngelo Hall of Va. Tech (runs an obscene forty time)'

Chris Gamble of Ohio State (kind of fast also, but raw)

Derrick Strait of Okla

Kaiwan Ratliff of Fla.

Dunta Robinson So. Carolina

Marlin Jackson of Mich.

Will Poole of USC may move up the charts

Vasher may be moving slightly down

I don't view any of them as breaking into the top 5 (though Hall certainly has the physical qualities to belong there). Stranger things have happened, though, on draft day. (For example, did anyone think Sullivan was rated that high by any team last year?)

(Note - We already have Batman - he plays slot receiver for us).

I would just pick up the 8 year old center and throw him on top of the QB.

Superman is faster than Batman.

6' is not small for a CB.Alot of the good ones are in the 5'9 to 5'11 range.Ratliff is from right here in Columbus and i never even heard of him coming out of high school. He must've really developed at Florida.

Do not disagree with you that speed is not everything. I think Batman could go as low as round 3 or 4 and high as round 1. He would be an absolute steel in round 4 and I would have no problem taking him in round 3. He is still young and only played 2 years at Arkansas but he was a force for those 2 years. I have probably watched him play 15 games. I think he was considered one of the top 2-3 of corners in America comming out of high school. He has that Deion Sanders mentality and is somewhat of a showboat but has the attitude no one can beat him. I will be very interested to see where he will be ranked by the draft gurus. To come out this early somone must have convinced him he would go high.

Yes CBus... Ratliff is great!! Even the SEC Defensive player of the year!!! Being I live in FL and my wife is from Gainseville I get to see alot of Gator games. One senior who is not getting much recognition from Florida is Guss Scott. He was doing great. Not a first rounder I don't think but could be a steal later. He is 5-11, 195. He had 87 tackles, 2 INT, 9 Breakups. But his best game was when they beat LSU. He forced 5 fumbles and recorded 10 tackles. He was the leading force in that win. But not getting much love. That's ok... I will be able to watch him at the senior bowl. :stupid:

Batman could also hide his batmobile phone under the goal post and park his bathummer outside the stadium.
