I thought it was good. I found the overall story very predictable though. However I'm guessing that Scorsese most likely made it that way on purpose. I'm still waiting for some sort of "Mindscrew" but it never happened. Leave it to Scorsese for the Reverse Mindscrew Mindscrew.

I thought the acting was fantastic. Definintely worth seeing.

I do LOVE movies. Me and a bunch of guys from work have a tradition of going to see a movie generally every week on Thursday night at midnight. We will do this almost every week depending on the release. This coming week we are going to see The Crazies.

Then you add that to the fact that I have two kids who want to see every kid/teen movie that comes out and yea we see a BUNCH of movies. In fact it is a big part of my families budget I hate to say. We enjoy it though.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I Love going to the movies. I typically take an extened lunch on big release fridays and catch the new releases.

Plus I'll take the little ones to any new Disney/Dreamworks flick that they want to see. The kids love it. I still remember my dad taking me an my brother to the movies growing up. So I feel like I'm keeping that tradition alive.

The acting was great IMO. I don't see how anyone could think think Dicaprio is not a top tier actor. lately the guy is about as good as they come IMO. The Departed, Blood Diamond, The Aviator and this movie. The guy just nails it. There is a reason why guys like Scorcese pick him.

Loved him in those movies, especially Blood Diamond. Going to see it this weekend, hopefully I like it as much as you did Shane.

Throw in The Gangs of New York too.
I've gone out of my way to try not to like the guy, I can't.
He's money!

Saw it tonight.
I don't know if I'd say "enjoy" is an appropriate word, but I was pleased with the result of the film.
It stayed spiritually true to the source, looked fantastic, and was strongly supported by the ability of the cast.

This film will probably polarize the crap out of movie goers. Pacing will probably be the biggest complaint, but I don't know if there'd be a way to improve on it.

OT Spoiler (how's that even possible?)
Emotionally, this is how the Max Payne movie should have been handled. Those familiar with the original games, not the film, can see parallels that would have made for a much better film. This was some tight psychological drama and a cool visual look into our pop culture view of madness.

He was great in What's eating Gilbert Grape. His accent in Gangs of NEw York was pretty iffy, but it was not a terrible performance.

Saw it tonight, not bad. Pacing was a tad slow in parts, but I didn't completely guess the ending, so that was good. I thought it was something like it ended, but not the way it ended up (if that makes sense).

Leo is cute and Mark Ruffalo is hottttt.

I'd like to watch this again, knowing the ending this time.

I thought it was very good and everyone I went with was satisfied with it. I also would like to see it again just to go back through it after seeing the ending. Another good Scorsese movie.

My biggest complaint. I thought they could've shaved 20-30 minutes off the film.

The ending was/is obvious and for it was pretty much sitting there to see how they open up this story.

The actors were all great and Leo was fantastic as always, but this movie not so great. Between the predicatable story and slow pace, it wasn't the best experience.

Save the money and rent this.

I liked it, the wife hated it. Not great, but good. The pacing didn't seem too slow to me, but I agree that it needed about 30 mins. cut out of it.

Finally saw this and liked it, as it was creepy and tension-filled as hell.

The problem was that I saw the eventual conclusion within the first 20 minutes.

Maybe it was supposed to be obvious? Was Martin trying to get us to focus more on the character development? It was just so easy to figure out early on that I feel there must be something too it. Thoughts?

Its funny I knew the conclusion of the movie just from a 30 second preview a few months before it came out. Co-Workers thought I was full of crap so I wrote it down and put it in an envelop, because they didn't want to know before they watched it. After they watched it they opened the envelop to see if I was right. Won me a $20 movie gift card from 5 people for a total of $100.

It is why I have waited to watch it. Is it still a good movie if you already know the ending? Probably a good idea I am waiting to rent it.

yeah, it's still solid even if you see the end coming a mile away. Good performances, amazing cinematography and Scorcese seems like he's having fun with it. but definitely a rental if you've done the envelope.

I recently watched it. I don't think it was meant to have some great plot twist to it. At least I didn't interpret it that way. I thought it was a well-made suspenseful thriller.

This movie was awful. Absolutely predictable and pointless.
