I especially agree with Ray Lewis on this one. Cutler shows negative body language after every bad throw or mistake by his team mates. I can't see why any player would want to run through walls for him and that's what you need a QB to instill in his supporting cast.

I've thought pretty much the same about Rivers.

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!! His contract wouldn't allow us nor any other team to trade for him. It wouldn't work for Chicago or the Cardinals...nor any other team. His contract was signed LAST YEAR and the wording as such makes it IMPOSSIBLE.

that doesn't even get into if we would want him for free.

Again THIS ISN'T EVEN A PIPE DREAM...it's 100% impossible

If we somehow signed Cutler, I would be shifting my favorite team to somewhere else. He is on my list of can't stand people/players up there close to Pete "the Cheat" Carroll.

Wow. That's big news. $100+ million dollar contract, something like 15 guaranteed next year.

Cutler has Romo-itis and throws some bad picks and can snowball from time to time.

But the following isn't his fault
Packers 55
Patriots 51
Cowboys 41
Packers 38
Lions 34
Saint 31
Panthers 31
Dolphins 27
Bills 23

Meanwhile, the guy you are benching is doing this...

PCT YDS TD INT RAT
66.1 3,640 28 18 89.5

Those are pretty nice numbers given the meltdowns he's had. Their offense has been hit pretty hard by injuries as well. Seems like either Jeffrey or Marshall has been injured almost every game.

The Bears are a hot mess. It's messing with their head, and now they are pulling the wrong string. Yep, I am glad that isn't us anymore.

Now they go on with noodle arm Clausen in the Windy City, and without Marshall.

Hopefully Clausen has learned since his Gruden QB camp day that you don't lead by throwing everyone else under the bus for your mistakes.

Not saying I want him, but for the Bears to make this move is absolutely crazy.

No. Just no. I will take Stanton, Thomas and Lindley over Cutler. Hell, I'll take the kid we just signed to the practice squad over Cutler.

The guy has a thorough track record at this point. And, he's just good enough to get coaches fired.

I do think Cutler is a headache, and a headcase, and I question alot about the dude, but ya'll are nuts saying no, and hell no, without even thinking about it.

He has all the physical tools really, it's just his brain that needs rewiring. If anyone can bring a QB around it's BA and Tom Moore. It would also be the most talented team he's ever been on. If that doesn't light a fire, nothing can.

The problem, I believe, with this offensive system under BA is that the QBs take wicked hits, pressures, hurries, etc. Cutler is tough, just like Carson was tough and Stanton is tough. I would consider it.

All that drivel of mine being said, it'll never happen, cap hit is too big lol. ☺

Apologies but this is utter nonsense. He's better than every QB we have by far except Palmer. And I'm not convinced Palmer will be that healthy or in playing shape come next year.

He's Jeff George, the problem is we don't have Cris Carter and Randy Moss in his prime. And we don't have a great OL and a great RB too.

In a perfect situation Cutler could take you a long way, but we don't have a perfect situation.

Love the Jeff George comparison.

Dilfer just tore him to shreds in a film breakdown before the game. Showed several example plays where the design was perfect and the receiver was open but Cutler never either threw the ball or was late and got sacked. Pretty revealing of his poor play.

I wouldn't want the guy.

We have two QBs which display that characteristic. I haven't seen Thomas much so it could be three.

Why is everyone talking about the cap hit?

The Bears could simply cut him and THEY would take the cap hit.

The only thing that intrigues me about Cutler is the fact that Arians could of have been the head coach in Chicago knowing that Cutler was his QB.

Here is a few huge differences.
1.Cutler would not have been coddled under BA. Arians has called out Fitz, PP21 and Ellington during this season. He would ahve been all over Cutler.

2. Coaching. Can't even say Arians and Trestman in the same sentence.

3. Cutler at most would have been franchised last year tieing him to the team for just one year. If that didn't motivate Cutler nothing would have.

4. The Bears made a huge mistake signing him to a multi year conract.

5. The Bears other huge mistake was making him the point man of the offense. Arians would have bulked up the O-line and insisted on establishing the running game. Making Cutler throw more than 28 times a game is simply wrong.

All that being said , Cutler is a pompous Ass. He is the total opposite of TEAM. He is the total opposite of NEXT MAN UP.

The Bears have benched him. I believe they decide to do that to show the fans of CHicago that it isn't all Jay Cutlers fault. The defense will give up another 40 burger this week. The Bears will get hammered.
They will fire Trestman and Emery and bring in a new staff.

They can eat coaches and GM's salaries but cutting Cutler will strap their cap situation more than it already is with no money to shore up their terrible defense.

Bottom line. This locker room would chew Cutler up and spit him out.

I usually agree with just about everything you post, but think about this one a little more man. You're right about the PHYSICAL tools that Cutler has. He doesn't have the brain to connect those things together. He's a legitimate head case.

He's no leader at ALL. He mopes around on the sidelines, his body language is pathetic, he looks and acts tired all the time. He never even seems into the game at all. Just watch any of his press conferences. "blah..blah..blah.. monotone voice..blah...blah...blah"

He's a cancer, I don't want him in any uniform that even resembles a Cardinal's one.

Beat me to it. Jeff George had all the talent but a 10 cent head and no heart. Cutler may not be that bad but it's close.

I don't think Cutler can take a team anywhere meaningful.

Yeah, if he was still a young QB then I would be for it. But, he has PROVEN what type of QB he is. Like I said, just good enough for someone to take on and wind up getting fired in a few years.

If it wasn't cost prohibitive, I'd take Cutler in a second. Are you guys really saying you'd rather run Drew Stanton or Ryan Lindley out there over Cutler? That's crazy.

Cutler is getting way too much blame in Chicago and then you have the media jumping on it to make it worse. Sure, he's had a couple bad games but how about the defense hold someone under 30 once in a while.

This.

Imagine Cutler with this set of WRs and scheme. Trestman's scheme is dink and dunk. Cutler is sling and fling. Strongest arm in NFL history.

Cutler has never demonstrated the mental capacity to play at the best and highest levels a QB needs to in order to succeed in the NFL. Every coach he has had in the NFL has NOT been able to get Cutler to perform at the elite level.

Cutler is just another Jeff George, a guy with a rocket arm that cannot make his team a better one. The big contract he has now is going to be his last one. Sure, he will eke out some more years as a back-up somewhere in the NFL, but the shine on his inabilities to improve and elevate his play to the elite level is all gone.

He is also not disciplined enough to run BA's offense, so we will never see him here.
