I think Blaine Gabbert is the most QB talent available for the buck ( by my grades) and available for cards to sign right now - he could compete to start on half the NFL teams and still hasn’t been in the same system 2 years in a row - won’t be in the same system here for at least another year.

Bridgewater and Bradford are both 1 st round picks with knee injuries - Foles was SB MVP - great choices abound - but I think McCoy has a hell of lot more to work with in Gabbert than he has won with in other stops. Get DJ firing on all cylinders- oline protected by that balance -

Bottom line is I think Gabbert has more talent than cousins - better health outlook than TB and Bradford - Foles is an upgrade - but Gabbert could be signed at back up money until he and the new staff prove themselves.

Could these QBs take other teams starting QB position?

Why on earth would you sign Gabbert over Stanton. Gabbert was one of the single worst QBs I've ever seen. It was a damn joke

Wait hold on, is this a troll thread?

Good insight Mrs. Gabbert

I think if you took a poll it would be 50/50.
I wouldn’t.
If you’d rather have Stanton then you’re just being rash and not taking the question seriously imo. What is the most important quality a back-up needs to possess? The ability to stay healthy. A team just won a Super Bowl with a back up. Rarely can a third string QB even keep a team in a game. This, more than anything else, is where Stanton failed miserably every single time he had to fill in for Palmer. As soon as Palmer was down, it was never long before we had to see what was behind door number 3. Most teams go years on top of years without putting a 3rd string QB in a game. With Stanton, that could never be a possibility. On top of everything else, he is five years older than Gabbert. He also really sucks. There’s always that.

Gabbert cannot process information worth a crap after his first read is not there and he can basically only throw to his first read if they are in the middle of the field ten to twenty yards... tired of seeing defenses simply cover the 'Gabbert Zone' from what I saw

Gabbert had no chance last season with a depleted offense. But he has never had much wherever he was. Wouldn't hurt as a camp body at vet minimum for another year.

I'd rather coax Leenart (Leinart) out of retirement...and I was a Gabbert supporter last year.

I think it is more about the system and continuity - Wilkes has no system - says it will be developed around the players that he has - just rushing will be its base foundation - McCoy is proven at exactly that- developing a system around Tebow and others to create success. you know I like fundamentally sound offense, continuity and consistency comes from rushing the ball- the engine of any offense- makes everything else go! So that’s how I came up with that - no mething around, no law needed, but you need to upgrade your doctorate in smelology.

I believe Gabbert can be signed cheap now - we offered and extension in season, so maybe not! So I guess you need to call the law on keim and the Bidwill too! No promises but a chance to compete against fa and rookies we can’t sign till later. Gabbert ain’t done yet, has skills, but never had a system built for him.

Check that - jaguars built around him - but lots of things went sideways-

Foles is card fans first choice from results - I agree, wish I would have added Brock - think he still has starter ability in the right system - McCoy’s system.

At least Gabbert occasionally gets to that confusing second read.... Stanton rarely even tried it...

That being said, I want neither.

Every once in a while someone pulls a gem QB after the first round... Maybe this year it will be us.
Probably not though.

You didn't ask who has more talent. DS just wins more games, for whatever reason. BG has million dollar talent but a 10 cent head, and will most likely never lead a team to more victories than losses.

I chose Foles. Reasonable contract, still in his prime and if he could be had for a 3rd rounder I would do it. Will PHI decide to play it safe and keep him as insurance for Wentz, that is the million dollar question.

My main point asks the question, how does one win games from the trainers room?

Nick Foles ?

I do not get it.

Didn't the Cardinals learn the first time from selecting an Eagles back up ?

Didn't the Cardinals learn the second time from selecting a Superbowl MVP ?

There will be free agents available that have the skill Nick Foles has for way less resources, and higher ceilings. Foles is a streaky QB, this is not the first time he has put up great numbers in his career. He has yet to show he can sustain it, heck, look no further than his first couple of starts before the playoffs.

Then again, I am the fan who is trying to sell Teddy Bridgewater, so I do not have much room to talk, LOL!
