Just got off the phone with a good friend who lives in Chandler, AZ. He said there are strong rumors that the Cardinals could bring back Simeon Rice to replace the injured Okeafor. He's definitely a reliable source of information, but it's the first I've heard of such a rumor. The problem is that the Bidwill's despise him & so does the community. Has anyone else heard this? He could be a good fit for this D - someone who can get to the QB.

We talked about it when he failed his physical in Tampa. It'll be the football version of B.K. Kim returning to the Valley!

I like Simeon...he's quite possibly insane though. But he used to make me laugh. When I worked Cards Camp, he was pretty cool to me. I know everyone hates him, but I would be happy if he came in. His cancerous ways wouldn't be an issue in this lockerroom, I don't think.

We need his talent of rushing the QB, desperately.

With that said, I think there's about a 1% chance of him coming in, and that is if Bill thinks its some new guy named Simon Rice.

With our lack of a pass rush so far this preseason, I'm warming up to the idea.

He would help this team and I have not had any ill will toward him for leaving or saying what he did about Phx (although I don't agree). His time here was during the "old days/old ways" and who could blame him for not liking it?

He has a SB ring now and might just be a solid addition.

HOWEVER...I did hear something about Simeon saying a negative comment toward Pat Tillman. I have no idea what it was or if true but...

...if true, he will not be here and shouldn't be.

Serious question. Do you think that he would be an upgrade? He would definately improve the pass rush, if healthy.

Is there anyone out there who's game more resembles Chike's than Rice. If the Cardinal organization thinks that Chike was going to play an integral part in their success, then they ought to at least bring Simeon in for an interview. If Chike role isn't considered important, then stick with the bums that we have.

He's healthy. They asked him to take a pay cut and when he said "no", they decided that he "failed" his physical.

He did say that Tillman was an average player at best, but quickly retracted the comment when he caught grief.

He can't come back since AZ does not have enough deodorant for his return...

:offtopic: Tillman was an average safety. He is an outstanding person and role model however.

Dang! You beat me to the punch - I was going to suggest that, should he re-sign with us, we all pitch in and send him a case of Mitchum.

We could definitely use him. Berry looked old last year before getting dinged up and other than him there's nobody on the defensive line that can pressure the QB. Finish it all where it started Simeon, maybe he can be a Cardinal when he gets into the HOF.

If he failed his physical in Tampa why would he pass his physical in Arizona?

See post #8.

He also passed his physical with the Giants and I think it was the Titans as well.

I can't see Simeon going to the HOF.

For the record, I can't see Bidwill agreeing to bring him back. I've never gotten the feeling that winning was that important to them that they would bring back a guy that gave them so much negative publicity. JMHO.

Go Cards!!!
