Simmons has 101 tackles on the season, 65 solo, 1.5 sacks, 7 Pdef, 4 FF, 1 INT.

If that's a bust, I'll take three more like him!
If u see at numbers yes but considering his talent, he can do much more, not just his fault imo

If that's a bust, I'll take three more just like him!

Would like the sack total to be a little higher, but I guess his speed and athleticism make him more valuable in coverage in VJ's scheme, and 4 FF and 7 pdef is pretty impressive to me.

He hits people hard too. I mean really hard.

Everyone has forgotten it seems like, but his hit on Trey Lance at the goal line on 4th and 1 was one of the highlight plays of the season. In fact, it might be my personal favorite.

Simmons had a better game than Parsons and Parsons is a great player. Simmons simply needs to be allowed to play in an aggressive mode of attack and the same goes for any young guy since his advantage is his freakish physical ability and not his mental aspect at this juncture... turn the mad dogs loose
Blitz him through the A gap, every single time they do he's in the QB's $#/+ in the blink of an eye. VJ can even use him on delayed A gap blitzes where the inside guy twists to the outside. Nothing blows up a play more than a guy right up the middle in the QB's face.

ACC is not a weak conference in terms of talent. It had the third most draft picks last year after the SEC and Big 10. Well ahead of Pac 12 and Big 12.

It was this season & maybe in 2020, like way down. It was a good conference the years he played. Not SEC good but good. Idk what all VJ asks him to do but with his speed there has to be something he can excel at. Funny how he could play like 5 positions at Clemson & VJ can't seem to find one for him? I'm not saying it's all VJ's fault cause again, I don't know what he's asked to do but I guarantee you this much. If Brent Venables was our DC & not the HC at Oklahoma, he would have him playing at an all pro level imo. The play against Seattle where Penny ran for the long TD, he stayed with the TE, maybe that was his assignment on that play? I wish someone in the media would ask VJ that very question & also ask him what Simmons main responsibilities are on most plays? All we have to go off of is how good these players are while in college, he was an all american so that needs to translate to the NFL. 4.2 speed can't be taught.

He should, but the coaches better give him some notes on what to learn from Dick and what not. Otherwise, with how many late hits he committed, he will become a modern flag machine.
True

Some of his tackles you would get a flag in todays game

But Dick knew how to pursue, take proper lanes to the ball and finish tackles
