Mike would work so well in college as a coach. His sort of out spoken bravado and firey style works in college ball but it wears very thin and fast on grown NFL men.

Also is this more evidence in favor of the Wiz easy going but structured training camp style versus the old school beat each other up Mike style of training camp?

The Mike style gets you out of the gate faster for a sprint but the Wiz style gets you ready for the marathon that a 17 week schedule plus playoffs is.

Yep Yep.

Whis has turned this team into a bunch of tough, glass eating, spit fying, nut busting, angry SOB's. The Titans game was brutal has Fisher has a tough team as well. Both teams gave as good as they got. Cards walk away from that a game a tad dinged up. Most teams leave a game against us hurting far more then most teams they play.

Very good point. I think the old school type of training camp rears it's ugly head about now as injuries tend to mount. Between Whis' style & Lott's conditioning, we have seen very few of the crucial injuries we used to see here & continue to see w/ other teams.

Until the Vikings have a first round bye wrapped up we do have a lot to play for. The Vikings could come back tougher because of our victory over them or they could go into a tailspin.

I've also noticed that when teams play us that the next game they play they are not focused or are banged up and seem to take a nose dive. You can almost document it from last year.At least the Jags have bounced back after the second game of the season and are now a wild card team in the messy AFC.Congrats to them and the team that does'nt have any fans to show up for the games.Always blacked out.Yet they keep on playing their best.

I think the head coach there may have saved his job for another year if he can hold onto that playoff spot.

I'd say watch how favre and the vikes respond to the ASS WHIPPING they got last night as they play the hot BENGALS & Giants in the last game of the season as they might want to take a break as the giants will be playing a MUST WIN game.I'm really hoping we WIN OUT and the two teams I mentioned beat the vikes so the CARDINALS get HOME FIELD for the first week of the playoffs as the second seed. That would be AWESOME!!!!!!

As a Bengals fan I've been thinking about the seeding too...it seems to me that most of the top-seeded teams end up stumbling due to the week off. Teams that play hot, week-in-and-week out, usually seem to win in the playoffs. It's not who's the best overall, it's who's playing the best at that moment in time.

Honestly, I would rather have the 3 seed and stay hot rather than get rusty

Must... resist the urge to dig up all the threads, were people said I was dead wrong for saying coach Rah-Rah's smoke and mirror show will implode soon enough.

I was with you all along. He is Dave MacGinnis.

That was until our Cards last year.

Samurai Mike lost control the minute he put in Alex Smith. They've completely reshaped their offense to cater to Smith, which is a strange call. Smith looks better than I thought he would, but he still isn't a guy to be the focal point of an offense. They're now second to last in rushing attempts, and Gore ran the ball 9 times yesterday against a team he put up 207 against earlier this year. That's a very questionable gameplan.

Actually I think they describes our Cards--they got hot at the right time--the playoffs themselves. If they had taken a week off I'm not sure they would have made it to the Super Bowl. Just look back at the list of teams in the SB--many 3 and over. Not nearly as many 1 or 2 seeds

Questionable? That borders on lunacy!

I recall the big debate after the 49ers and Broncos got off to fast starts. I had said lst's see hoe it plays out when many were saying they would both falter. Looks like one has fallen and the other is still in contention.

I never bought it either, I said before and I still believe that Mora is a better coach than Singletary. Singletary is a nut case and his schtick will wear thin before too long.

The paper champions we face and beat seem to really stumble hard after we knock them off. See Carolina last year/start this year. See the Giants. See the Bears. See the Bills last year. See the Cowboys last year. We seem to expose teams, hard...and destroy them for weeks afterwards.

Will the Vikes hit a Cardinal-started slump as they face some tougher teams down the stretch than they've faced so far? Their record thus far was fattened up on bad to average teams. They now face a few good teams. I desperately want us to run the table and watch them drop two games...

Avoid the Distractions...

We've got a business trip next week.

Our job is to compete at a high level with a desperate division opponent who must win to stay alive in the remote hope of securing a playoff spot.

Our goal is to clinch.

It would also be nice to get the sour taste of the Game 1 loss out of our mouths.

It will be an intense game where, in order to win, we'll have to work hard on game prep/film study and play smart and hard for all 60 minutes.

What we don't need to do is listen to (and respond to) an opposing coach's attempt to bait us.

Just take care of business.

Did he outcoach himself last week? 3 early timeouts, 2 4th down gambles (1 that paid off for a TD, the other for no points) and only 9 handoffs to Gore against a team Frank scorched for 200+ yards their previous meeting.

To all Gods, of any religion. I pray that we embarrass those skirts like nobody's business. I will then compose my e-mail in a drunken stupor to that dope in SF who proclaimed the Niners champs in week 3.
