Today's Game
Wednesday, 8:00pm
vs. Sixers
TV: ESPN, FSAZ
Well the Sixers lost to the Kings the other night. I don't see the Sixers putting up to much of a fight. Tonight is a very late game and for an East Coast team that has got to be hard. Even though they have been on the West coast for a week coming to play a team like a rested Suns team is going to be tough no matter what time it is.

Being in the Sixer's market, I actually get to see this game tonight. I'd love to see the Suns win, and the Spurs and the Heat lose tonight.

The sixers have been playing well latley. They are starting to play well together, and they might give the suns a tough test tonight. I think the suns will get this one, but the sixers are actually starting to spread the floor better now, and this will make our defense work. The sixers aren't beaten anymore if you can just contain Iverson. They have some more weapons now.

Suns win 108-104

I hope Amare plays - this is one of the few games I'll be able to watch this season...

I fear a letdown game - especially without Amare in there. Hopefully the boys rally and win another one without the big man! Maybe Q will FINALLY break out of his slump - we're gonna need it - can't expect 30 from Shawn all the time, or 23 from Nash or 14 from Hunter - man we're we solid or what against Denver!

Detroit leads Sacramento by 15 in the 2nd quarter right now. By the time our game rolls around, we'll know whether a win will clinch the Pacific or not. That might change the mental makeup of our guys in regards to this particular game, Amare or no Amare.

It doesn't mean that much, but I would think that the guys would love to clinch the Pacific tonight if they can.

That's true, I can definitely see it contributing to their focus if they know it's not "just another game."

Come on Pistons!

holy crap - I walk away from my computer with us up 41-33 and return to find us up 65-41!!!! How the hell did that happen within 6 minutes?

Just hold the lead fellas and get Amare some more rest.

Two assists and Nash would have the 2nd triple double of his career.

Great 2nd quarter, getting deflections, running the break, and hitting threes.

DON'T LET UP!

another great win - man - I'm really, really - probably almost foolishly - starting to get really good feelings about this team - but on the other hand - the Spurs just kicked the snot out of Seattle without Duncan - I think a series between the two of us would be an all out war - hope it happens(or hope the Spurs got knocked out - either way is fine with me!)

Keep it going boys!

This might very well be the best defensive game they've played since November. The Sixers shot only 35.1% from the field. Hunter had 5 blocked shots.

Being able to destroy an opponent without Amare is outstanding. The ESPN guys were saying that they thought the Suns have a chance to get the finals.

Question....

Here is Hunter's stat line for the night.
30 minutes, 5pts on 2-5 shooting, 3 rebounds 1-4 free throws, but 5 blocked shots and only one turn over.

.... does the reason he doesn't rebound well stem from always being out of position from attempting to block shots? 3 rebounds in 30 minutes from your 7 footer is just... lame.

No, it's because Nash stole them all. :p

I thought Hunter's rebounding was okay. The main goal in rebounding is to make sure that the other team doesn't get the ball, not that you yourself necessarily get it. (The Sixers' bigs got more rebounds than Hunter did, but it was Iverson who led them in the category.) The Suns won the overall rebounding battle (54-46) and gave up only 12 offensive boards, which is great by their standards. So I'd say that the whole team rebounded pretty well, regardless of which players happened to wind up with the ball in their hands after the miss was cleared.

Good point.

Good point about the defense (I actually only saw the first half--the second I was busy getting birthday drunk!), I thought the same thing when we went on our huge run in the second to pull away.
