SK turned us into contenders once and I have faith he will do it again, but good to see he is aware of what needs to be done.

That is great that Steve Keim is not happy.

Within his angry interview the most important quote is:

"There is a lot of work to be done this offseason and I rarely think about the things that work," Keim said. "The things that race through my mind are the things that didn't work or the things I need to improve on personally. I take it personal. It's one of those things that keeps me up at night and one of the things that fuels me to keep improving this roster."

It has been well documented that while Keim has strengths when it comes to finding personnel, his drafting, ESPECIALLY in the top 1/2 of the draft has been poor.

I am on the fence with Steve Keim. He is a good GM, but all that most Cardinals fans had to compare him to is Rod Graves, who was a horrifically, nightmarishly bad GM. Rod Grave, nice guy, horrible GM.

So, really, Keim is this organizations 1st "real" NFL GM this organization has had. So, is he really good, or just the best we have seen ?

He has A LOT to prove. A lot of moves doesn't automatically translate to winning. One could argue that the moves he made after the 2015 season where they let Jerraud Powers, and Rashad Johnson leave were not the best moves.

We will see, but at least Keim understands it all starts with him.

I haven't been happy with this team the last 2 years. Time to put his money where his mouth is. The first thing on his mind that doesn't work is reaching in the draft for small school guys with potential rather than proven blue chip guys from big time programs.

I expect some impact FA's as well, similarly to JAX signing of Campbell, ARZ needs impact guys on that OL and opposite PP, Williams has been good but at 34 years old he may not have much left.

I think Palmer will be coming back for one more year. Even though he broke his arm, he’s not taking the weekly beatings like years past. And I don’t think he’s the type that wants his last NFL pass to be an interception. And now that there’s no chance for playoffs, I think he should let the team know so they can start to plan If he comes back, I think Fitz comes back.. and I think Arians comes back, too. But they do need to draft a qb. The real challenge will be finding the right fit.

I wouldn't call it "successful," but I can accept it when the team is injured to all hell, or in Arians' first year when the team wasn't really his.

Keim can't stop DJ from breaking his wrist, or Tyrann from tearing an ACL. I'll admit though, it's been very difficult to suffer through the past two seasons.

Some people have become so jaded it's pretty funny. We are coming off the most successful run in franchise history and it's still not good enough.

This team has been destroyed by injuries we are playing a 3rd string QB and a 3rd string RB missing more than half the starting offensive line and I've actually read on this board injuries are SK fault for drafting smaller players lol.

This team was built on veterans in a win now mode now those guys are old and it's time to rebuild, but Nope we should be winning 12 games a year rebuild be damned.

This is the NFL you win then you suck then you win and repeat.

Unless you have a dominate franchise QB this is the story and most times where do those teams that got star QBs draft them? At the top of the draft and why are they drafting there? That's right.

To be fair to Keim, he didn't build the roster at the start of the year to have the game read something like: "Blaine Gabbert was flushed from the pocket after Will Holden and Earl Watford got beat around the edge, so he had to step around Alex Boone and dump off to Elijaa Penny."

You do realize that Keim is personally responsible for every one of those players being on the team. If these players can't play, it's on him for bringing them in here instead of competent players.

both noted that Keim cannot be distracted by the injuries as the reason the season didnt turn out as planned, and, needs to be prepared to make hard decisions. Noted the NFC west has now fully turned over -- Rams on top, 49ers looking to be better, SEA in a transition spot --- also noted (duh) the Gabbert is clearly not QBOF, and, jury is out on if he is a stop gap


i say this because i think that two guys employed by the team and who just spent 5 hours in the same plane as Keim / Mike B etc dont say stuff like this randomly or on their own analysis.

That's missing my point. Watford wasn't even on this roster at the beginning of the season. We did not count on him as a starter. He got picked up off the street when all of our linemen were down and we just needed someone who knew the playbook.

he gets brought in due to Iupati / Boone injury -- but then takes Boehm's place -- they guy they thought was an upgrade to Watford. Watford immediately improves the situation
