As an ASU guy I have closely followed his career here. I have always seen something special in him. That doesn't make me a homer, just informed. That said, most of the season he was predicted to be drafted in the 6th or 7th round, if at all. I was all onboard drafting him late in the draft. But now after the Peach Bowl his play has received a lot of attention nationally and his predicted draft stock has risen substantially. He is now predicted to be drafted anywhere from the 2nd round to the 5th round. Those are the predictions nationally because of his sudden national exposure. It's not because of ASU fans, we have nothing to do with his predicted rise in the draft.

So where do I stand now? I would love to have as a Cardinals, not because he went to ASU but because I think he would be a good fit for the Cardinals. I honestly would not take him before the 4th round, but i believe some team will.

I was called a homer when I wanted to draft Heap and Suggs. Again, not because they went to ASU, but because I had first hand knowledge and knew the potential they had to be great. (Not comparing Skat to their skill level) just my reasoning for wanting to draft him if his draft position works with out plan.

If the Cardinals felt like they needed to add a RB, taking Cam in the 4th round would be fine. If it was just for value, the 5th. My biggest issue with Cam is that I don't understand why the Cardinals would want to draft a mid round RB this year.

Because they can. Because they can!!

Just kidding. Wondering the same thing. Conner and Benson are fine.

Yea, uh, nah. A player like Jaydon Blue also had a great game in the playoffs, but I have yet to see a Jaydon Blue thread.

It’s nothing but ASU homerism. The “I don’t care where he played” shtick is hilarious.
What did Blue do during the regular season that compares to Skattabo?

730 yards rushing, 5.4 per attempt // 368 receiving, 8.8 per catch // 14 combined TDs.

Skat
1711 yards rushing, 5.8 per attempt // 605 receiving, 13.4 per catch // 24 combined YDs.

Tell me again about homerism? lol

Two dudes not even in the same class.

Right? True homerism in my mind is the NFL team in a state drafting a bench-riding college RB from the local area just because he went to the local college. Drafting an NFL-caliber player from an in-state college is just smart.
...depending on the value. This guy isn't a 3rd round pick. 4th? Eh, I guess. 5th and lower? Fine. Will he be fast enough and be able to break all the same tackles in the NFL? Yeah, I doubt it very much.

because Blue has traits that history has shown will translate to the NFL

I **think** what the NFL wonders about is: does Cam's 5.8 per attempt turn into 2.8 in the NFL because he wont shake off 90% of the tackles he did in college. Its a legit concern.

Won't know until we get there, but I did mention in a previous comment that I think he comps well to Brian Mitchell, because of his footwork in traffic and ability to break tackles.

Eh he broke tackles on 35% of his carries in college this year (an insane number), I don't think he does that in the NFL, but I think he can break a fair share of tackles in the NFL.

I watched a lot of Skattebo the past two years and the dude can play. I don't think he's a #1 back, but I think he's going to be a great utility player and will be well worth a third round pick if he pans out.
