Now let's not break our arms patting ourselves on the back just yet. 15 of 37 is hardly impressive. You can't sit there and tell me that all 22 of those incompletions were dropped passes.

No but at least 5 of those were. The fact he didn't turn the ball over, never panicked and had pocket awareness is something to build on. Nobody is saying it was a great debut but we have seen MUCH worse.

My point is a lot of people got all hot and bothered over Hall. I think we should wait to see how he does in the next few weeks before anointing him the QB of the future.

I don't think anyone has said he is the QBOF. People were encouraged by his play, I don't see anything wrong with that.

Big, big difference between Hall's game vs Saints & Skelton's game today. Every time Hall got hit, he looked like he wouldn't be able to continue. He also never saw or sensed hits coming. Skelton's pocket awareness was significantly better. No sacks, no turnovers. He managed the game well for a rookie. I'm eager to see him play the next three weeks.

He is the only Cardinal QB that I have seen this year who looks like he could still be in the league in 3 years.

Anyone and I mean anyone who wasn't impressed with his performance today is a complete and utter hater. The guy was about as poised I have have seen a rookie QB in a long long time.

His pocket presence and feel for the pass rush was pretty amazing. He was accurate for the most part and was a victim of at least 6 drops by my count. His comp % today should have been much better his WR's didn't do him any favors. He had two perfectly thrown medium to long length balls to both Breaston and Doucett that were just flat dropped in the 1st half. The throws were pretty impressive.

That play where the defender knocked him over and he spun out of it and planted his hand on the ground to keep from going down and scrambled for 9 yards was impressive as hell and a thing of beauty. He has really good balance and is quite nimble for his size.

He is far from a finished product. But so far he has shown enough that he could possibly have the goods and definitely deserves the next 3 games to audition for it.

Not to mention he did all of this with NEVER taking 1st team reps till this week. Being a scout team QB all year and not really being involved with the regular offense. To boot he came from freaking fordham.

Color me impressed so far. VERY impressed.

I just didn't understand 2nd and goal and going to an empty backfield with a rookie QB.

It happened more than once where we had 2nd and short and came out in a spread. WTF. with a rookie QB why would you take the possibility of play action away?

It seems Whiz loves to just shuttle players in and out to mix it up. Sometimes you need to line up and punish your opponent. Sometimes you need to let your players get into a groove. Pretty hard to do when you are in for one play and out the next. (See Beanie Wells).

I thought he did okay and want to see what he does the rest of the year before passing judgment.

The one thing that impressed me the most was he seem to have that internal clock in his head while in the pocket. Knew when he needed to start moving out of the pocket or stepping up into it or when to get rid of the ball.

I also think the line did a pretty good job of protecting him.

Skelton looked great.

Great touch, perhaps a bit too much (well it was 30-40 yards downfield...don't forget THAT)

Threw the ball extremely well. Was behind or off on a few receivers but it appeared he was throwing the ball, 'where only the receiver could get it'. So when he was off, it was off in a good...controlled...way.

Made some very nice throws that weren't rewarded with catches (dropped).

Looked cool, calm, collected. I mean REALLY COOL, CALM, COLLECTED.

The game is fast, but his head is faster.

He looked very DELIBERATE out there.

Hardcount APPROVED!

Can Run and Block well and as about as mobile as someone can be without being labeled a 'running QB'.

Strong arm but doesn't always use it: ANDERSON 5 yard bullet pass....Skelton seemed to take enough off of the short ones that Anderson kept bulleting. Even when he didn't they were coming in hotter than Skelton. So the disparity between what Skelton CAN throw and what he does is wide. He can bullet it, touch pass it medium/long, or throw soft underneath.

Loved the play where he broke free and turned his head back upfield, read and recognize, and slung that ball Rivers style for what I believe was a completion (can't remember, but the ball got there).

The numbers might not be pretty, but overall I'd say that was the best QB'ing we've seen all year.

While Cam Newton is tantalizing, I believe we already have our QBOF. Still need a backup.

Use our (probable) high pick on ol/mlb/cb or trade down.

Overall this Skelton kid showed me everything I expected in this game sans a deep td pass.
