He had a few nice moments, but that is it. On the other hand, throwing in the towel on him at THIS point would be stupid.

I heard Spencer, the special teams coach, compare Skelton and Tebow in an interview last week. The question was only about Tebow, but Spencer said that just like Tebow, Skelton has an "it" factor.

That said, there is a huge difference between Tebow and Skelton in how they have played so far. Tebow has ONE turnover in five games. He has not put his defense in a bad spot at all. Skelton has 7 ints in the last three games and pretty much all of them put the D on a short field.

And Skelton has had some nice moments as well :D

The flip side of that, of course, is that Tebow isn't being put in a position to cause turnovers, either. Skelton isn't being placed in an offense that limits the damage he can do.

I'm anxious to see if Kolb has anything to build on, but to say I "believe in" him wouldn't be true. Skelton'd done a poor job in illustrating that he's a better option right now than Kolb, but Kolb hasn't show that he has much of a skill set to build around, either.

A huge concern. 0TDs with 5 picks in his last two games. Sadly our alternative threw 7 picks with 4 TDs in his last 6 games.

27 QBs have a better completion % than Kolb. Everybody but Gabbert is better than Skelator.

Kolb 58.8%, Skelton 49%, Bartel 52%, Anderson 51.7%, Hall 50.0%. That's a sad pattern.

without rationale or reason: I am really hoping that the four weeks off have given Kolb time to process on the offense and that we see a more confident player when he returns.

I saw a QB who wasn't totally believing what he saw in coverage -- and was often a half second late with throws ( meaning, he waited until he was sure). To step up in the pocket -- you need to have conviction on where you are going with the ball at the end of the step up -- otherwise you have run yourself into a sack if you just continue to hold the ball.

To use a basketball analogy: a player can take a jump shot in rhythm and hit nothing but net. But how often have you seen a good shooter pass on an open jumper, realize they should have taken the shot, and then go up and shoot a brick.

i think with QB its the same concept: confidence in where the ball is going and throwing in rhythm go hand in hand with stepping up in the pocket and accuracy.
