Skeleton busts his ass all week, coming in early and staying late (see Urbans blog) and working hard because even though all common sense says he will start, he knows that if he acts like the presumptive starter in practice all week, Whisenhunt will absolutely go to the other option (see Leenart, The Matt).

If the kid wants to be an NFL QB he shouldn't need the threat of not getting the starting job to do that.

Of course watching all the other slackers on the team could have caused him to think that wasn't necessary.

Being a douchebag doesn't make him a genius. The fact that he's a genius allows him to be a douchebag without consequence.
I refuse to allow you to be livid over something so dumb at this point in the season.

Why do you continue to listen to Whisenhunt? When teams lose/aren;t any good, the HC goes into coachspeak mode.

Maybe it is because I don't live in AZ, but I find it very easy to ignore Whiz.

It isn't coachspeak that I have an issue with. Not naming your QB until Friday because you are waiting out the concussion of the worst QB to play for this franchise or to see what your ufl backup has isn't coachspeak. It's actually not naming a QB.

Playing bad players like Brob or Faneca out of loyalty when they have better options...that's not coachspeak.

Allowing your defense to bail on a MNF game isn't coachspeak.

Coachspeak is "we're gonna keep doing what we're doing. Obviously, we've got to get better." That's easy to ignore and laugh at.

ACTIONS. I haven't seen them. They are needed. Allowing Davis to fake blitz DRC, then have DRC turn his back to the play to avoid contact and NOT be on the hot seat (both DRC and Davis) is not coachspeak. It's inaction. I've seen very little action and a LOT of inaction. Like failing to name a muffing QB until Friday when DA sucks out loud and the other guy is still getting his name stitched to the back of a jersey.

Now you are bringing up other issues.

Doesn't matter what day you name your starter. Just doesn't. Unless it is the night before like DG.

What you see as playing games, I see as good coaching and doing what you can to get the best out of a young player.

Because it worked so well with the Leenart, DA, Moxie, St. Pierre?

Yeah, I'm really trusting Whis on how to get his young QBs motivated. Ben is an abberation, and he probably performed so well because he hated Whis' guts.

There are many great things about CKW, but coaching QBs isn't one of them. I gave him the bennie of the doubt, and he gave me DA being exactly the same guy we all thought he was. But man, they really did work on his footwork and he looked comfortable back there. Leenart's footwork was worked on too.

Stay away from Skelton's feet, Whis! And fwiw, stay out of his head, too.

All four of those QB's are craptastic. Whiz games worked with Roth and KW.

Read the damn thread, mulli. :mulli:

I told you this minor issue basically unbarred the floodgates for me. THESE ARE THE THINGS I AM MAD ABOUT!!

The QB waffling just broke the camel's back. It's why I'm so livid about it...it certainly isn't this one stupid obtuse whis move...it's a microcosm of all his dumb stuff. Stubborn to a fault.

Haley worked with KW. Not Whis.

And KW worked with KW. Whis didn't give him gloves, KW did that himself. That was part one.

Maybe you should stop talking for a while. Take a breather champ.

Why didn't Haley work the LEenart? Or BSP?

No, those two are blamed on Whiz.

So 1/3 of his QB's have had success and 2/3 have failed miserably. Whis and Ben never got along and that team ran very well, and Warner had had previous success. Whis' roster decisions and developmental abilities are a major flaw.

Who cares if they got along, the two got results.

Ya, Whiz failed miserably with Leinart and with DA. Shocking.

I think I am mostly just surprised people aren't apathetic by now.

The season is lost anyway. Naming the starter on Wednesday isn't fixing anything.

He never really tried with ML, and DA was hand picked by him. He polished a turd. With the *****, that team had a great defense and run game. Two things a Whis led team hasn't had. Warner made Whis a genius.

The way he is acting scares me for the future. The future of our young players and the franchise as a whole. I picked a bad season to slow down on my drinking...
