Just saw that.

Hope Kolb is ok. Seems like he could have played because he did practice during the week, but is erring on the side of caution.

Hopefully, Skelton can play a solid, mistake-free game and win convincingly for once this year.

There are many side-effects associated with a player suffering from a concussion. I know Kolb has tried to practice some this week but crowd noise, stadium lights, head aches and such would have a major impact on his concentration during a game. Never mind the long-term damage it could cause. Unfortunately, the more concussions you have, the easier it seems to repeat having another.

Excellent point. As much as we need to see more of Kolb by season's end, better safe than sorry with head injuries. Skelton has to improve his 1st quarter play. Otherwise, he'll do fine.

Kolb is either injured, or terrible.
What a fantastic move by the FO.

Missed games due to injuries three times now in less than 2 seasons. Not a good sign or signing for the money the Cards gave him.

Way too early to pass judgment yet. But, if this trend continues, then I agree with you.

You can't rationally point to this as an "I told you so."

It was a pretty fluke injury. That direct blow to the head would likely give any a concussion. This wasn't on Kolb (aside from not getting rid of the ball sooner, resulting in the fumble, which caused the defender to run through him :D).

OK, this doesn't indicate an injury issue that should have been caught sooner.

The injury issues are caused by the offensive line. I think the statement, "The Cards should not have made any significant long-term investment in a QB until they fix the problems with the tackles," is a valid argument. But, we saw how putting a tackling dummy out there to play QB went over last year. Plus, we had to sign Fitz to a long-term deal.

Fortunately, this is the NFL. So no team is tied to a deal for the duration. If Kolb doesn't work out, the killer part of the dealer may be the lost 2nd rounder, not the contract to Kolb.

Skelton may wind up the QB-of-the-near-future that we can live with if he can keep the turnovers down over and improve his 1st qtr play.

Teams that rely on one QB to win tend to be one play (and injury) away from serious trouble (i.e. the Colts). Teams that play great defense and maintain good offensive balance that allows them to get by with average QB tend to be more consistent year over year because they are not reliant on one player.

If this was any other franchise in the NFL, Rod Graves would be on the express lane to unemployment. However, being that this is the Cards, Graves will probably get an extension over his complete failure with the Kolb debacle. He traded for a Franchise QB and got an injured scrub who can barely stand in the pocket.

He's taken a beating this year. He shouldn't be in there for the rest of the year. Concussions are very serious.

Double Deuce!

Hope Kolb feels better, but I am very confident with Skelton in as the starter!

Kolb can't stay healthy and Skelton blows donkey balls out there. Sadly, I think we may really need to start looking for a qb again...

I usually don't defend Graves under any circumstance, but the team needs more than one season and a complete offseason before classifying the Kolb trade as a "complete failure."

It is not about Kolb's willingness to play and most would have gotten a concussion with a knee to the back of the head as he did. The NFL will not let him play so easily with a concussion.

I don't see a huge drop off in team performance when Skelton is in there and He has a pretty good record, Yes I see the Skelton rookie mistakes, 2 safeties in a row, and such.

I wanted a bigger bump with Kolb in there, Dallas was a division leader, so it is just sad that Kolb is not the clear cut QB. and He aint.

Kolb is not comfortable and we have not seen his best football in AZ, have we seen Skeltons?

The way I see it, the trade was a failure from the minute it was executed. For what we gave up, and the contract that was given, that deal should only go towards an actual 'Franchise' player. We gave a deal similar to what Chicago and the Raiders gave up, and they got proven Pro-Bowl QB's. The Cards got someone who has a losing record, negative turn over ratio, and very questionable durability concerns throughout his career. The only success that could come out of that deal is if Kolb plays like a top 10 QB, and the chances of that were slim to none.

Well, signing him to a huge contract and sending a second round pick away was a huge gamble.

Either way, I am sure going to miss that second rounder come April
