Center Brian Skinner played 15 minutes, all in the second half, collecting nine points and seven rebounds, but D'Antoni said that didn't mean he wanted the Suns to slow the pace.

No matter who is out there, D'Antoni said, the goal is create space and push.

"I could've used (Skinner) in the first half, and I didn't because I didn't think he could guard Matt Barnes or somebody like that. But he can. I'll learn from that."

Good to see D'Antoni admit a mistake, and I do think Skinner should see more playing time - he has looked good in there, even alongside Amare. I suspect Coach D is not as hard-headed as he comes off publicly.

Skinner looked great with Amare, much better than Boris anyways. And that Amare-Skinner-Trix frontcourt was looking pretty appealing.

It's quite like the TD/Oberto/Bowen frontline. If Nash could learn the role of spot up shooters and Amare how to pass in the post a la TD and Dream, this team could rock, I mean win a championship. In fact, then trade Marion for Jefferson, a lineup of

Amare/Skinner/Jefferson/Bell/Nash would be perfectly balanced.:)

Skinner looking better and better -- another good night against the Pacers. I was curions to see how his stats this season compare against his career. Short answer: similar numbers, but fewer minutes per game this year, so actually better this year than over his career.

This year: 12.2 min 0.533 FG% 0.522 FT% 3.8 RBG 1.2 BPG 3.6 PPG
Career: 19.0 min 0.503 FG% 0.500 FT% 0.562 5.0 RPG 0.8 BPG 5.1 PPG

I would doubt that the Nets trade Jefferson. He's having a great season thus far, and I wouldn't want to mess with that in order to deal with Marion's contract BS. Now Artest on the other hand, if we could do something like Marion for Artest + Udrih, that would be a nasty front line. Artest is one of the very few perimeter players in the game that can make a game changing impact on defense. The dude is a straight up dawg.
