Both Sweezy and Pugh left the game with injury. That is the reason for the elevated reps Murray and Garcia played.

Daniels has taken Maxx's role it seems and Arnold is back to a sub role.

Isabella maintaining his niche.

I get Phillips is really big, but sub 50% snaps for a guy you gave 3yrs and 30 mil is a little questionable.

The embarrassment in handling Simmons continues.

Kirkpatrick playing more than Murphy is a first since week 1.

Phillips was questionable for the game so I get his limited snaps because he was hurting.

It seems to me that Simmons has been "trained" as an ILB, and because Campbell is playing well, he can't get many snaps. I'm guessing that if we resign Campbell then we might use the offseason to convert IS to the safety position. Fingers crossed that he can play NFL safety.

Hate to see Chandler get hurt. But with his health in the air, we may want to extend Campbell. He has been playing lights out this season.

I think you are correct. The only hiccup is that I now think Vance will be fired which will change things on the defense. I believe we will really see our defense struggle between this week and week 13.

Also why I believe we didn't see Peterson and Jones and Peters get extensions.

I can. PFF is trash.
lol I wouldn't go that far. I do think they push their evals and metrics to create conversation vs actually getting them right. When it comes to new metrics, if the best players don't have the best metrics, your metrics are likely off. Aaron Donald can have a bad year, but his bad is not going to be at the level of replacement dudes. If you are grading a dude super high but that player only plays a small number of snaps, you are probably aren't weighing the number of snaps into the grade enough.

I think people are being kind about Philips.

Peters has been better all round and on less than half the money. For 10m per I expected him in the backfield much more.

Agree that Phillips has been a disappointment and Peters has been better. I actually think that Fotu has been better than Phillips in his limited snaps. Another bad GM decision, paying 10M a year to a guy that is not worth more than 5M.

I don't think that's the case. Simmons never took practice reps from Campbell in camp.

I'm sure they see Simmons in that role long term but the role they had him penned in for this year was nickel backer. That would have seen him come on at weak side linebacker in nickel and perform a variety of roles and he would have got 60%+ snaps. He's built for that role really with his versatility.

And to be fair, that was the intention game one. Of the snaps he got they mostly came early, but he was so bad (gave up 2 TD's in only 12 snaps) that they yanked him and have been drip feeding him limited snaps in multiple roles since as they don't know what to do with him.

But he's only going to get better by playing. My guess is he won't see any significant snaps until we are out of contention.

This is why you don't pay guys with only 1 year of production and several years of none production. They haven't "put it all together" they just hit a hot streak in a system that uniquely suits them.
