Congratulations Robert Sarver
Congratulations Robert Sarver
The way I see it, the Suns are immediately improved at the PF and Center position with the addition of Scola. IMO, SF is no worse than a wash as Hill finished the season injured. I really do not see much change at SG except Michael Redd will likely not return. So that leaves the PG position. The Suns should have better depth there, but how much do the Suns lose with Dragic starting instead of Nash? This is an unknown. The Suns could crash and burn if Dragic does not perform well or overachieve if he plays well. I guess 35 wins sounds about right not knowing how Dragic will perform. It could be better or much, much worse.
I bet you didn't congratulate him when we went to the Western Conference Finals, though, right?
We could have won more games so the final suns record doesn't really reflect how good people are at predicting the suns record. It became apparent that we were tanking once Gentry was canned.
But it did prove that Gortat was over estimated and just reconfirmed that Beasley is terrible. The bright side is that it showed Dragic is legit and we have tucker to replace Dudley.
Tucker is so much more athletic than Dudley that I would move Dudley.

I could understand congratulating him
On winning the Western Conference Finals, but does winning two rounds of the playoffs really warrant "congrats"? Usually that's reserved for an actual accomplishment... At least IMO
For this franchise and its history, I'd say that's successful. Not the ultimate goal, at least, but still successful. You don't think getting to the West Finals is an actual accomplishment?

the Suns may be one of the top 5 worst teams in the NBA this year
Nailed it.
I nailed it too. I said I had no clue how they'd do and I was right, I had no clue.
I think I picked them for 16 wins in one thread and 48 wins in another. I never seriously expected them to be this bad though. I thought if Beasley could earn his paycheck we'd be in the running for a playoff spot.
Steve
I knew that Beasley was terrible defensively, but I really thought he'd be better on offense. Not having that one guy who can create his own shot really hurt more than anything else. Not having that perimeter scorer puts more pressure on Dragic, it doesn't give "D and three" guys like Dudley and even Tucker as many open shots. Don't get me wrong, Gortat has been a huge disappointment, and even Scola to some degree, but the lack of that go-to scorer is why we are as bad as we are.
Thought I made my prediction in this thread. Ohh well....this team is flat out awful. Just a group of players with no clearly defined roles on offense or defense playing a rec-league game. Hunter is a garbage coach. Hope he isn't retained next season
