Gortat clearly is everything I said he was. That's clear now, right?

You've got to be kidding??? We said he was playing at a reduced level because he was exhausted. Do you really think that playing more games in a short period of time would resolve this problem. Watch a game from January and compare it to now. He's much slower, get's less lift, and he's no longer capable of holding his own position. This won't change until he's had some real time off.

all that being true... it's pretty pathetic that a guy in the prime of his career is exhausted isn't it? I mean, i get that a lot of guys in the league are tired right now, but to be as wiped out as Gortat is should definitely raise some alarms, no, especially considering he's not playing super heavy minutes at 32 per game?

Maybe he's friends with Vlade Divac.

Well, I think you have to consider that he hasn't played all that many minutes until the trade to Phoenix.

I used to be a smoker. The last time I went to Disneyland (early 90's), I sat on the sidewalk and smoked a cigarette with Vlade. We didn't exchange any words but I'm sure the camaraderie we developed on that sidewalk is still as strong today as it was then. It's a moment I'll always treasure.

He's a professional athlete, not a 5th grader.

I'll admit, it's hard for me to make a strong case for the guy but I don't think there's any denying that he looks slower and weaker out there than he did in January.

these are bad excuses for a guy in his prime who's been dying for this opportunity for years.

He was awful awful awful tonight. He was visually intimidated, and he seems to shrink away in every big game we have. I don't understand why, it's just the facts.

I'm in a small minority of people on .net that would trade him in the right deal. I'm wondering if the group's gotten a little bigger today.

anyone on this roster is tradable. Sell high... especially on anyone worth anything while you can because by the time we're even close to being good again, those in their prime sure as hell won't be.

Gortat was totally and utterly beaten down and owned all night...
The Jazz as a whole were bigger, quicker, stronger and younger... And hey - unlike the Suns who have their power forwards launching 3's (Morris was pathetic as well!), The Jazz actually use their PF's as the NBA mandates! They dominated in the paint and on the glass! Favors is a BEAST!

This is true. I first took note of it sometime back when he looked like he had lost weight and muscle. I'm at a loss to explain why.

I think close to 90% of the board would agree with you right now. I've always been in favor of trading him in the right deal although my idea of the right deal probably differs from most other's. Despite his poor showing the past few weeks, I would insist on a premium consistent with the extra value typically afforded his position.

I've only been watching the games closely since just after the college season wrapped up. Without going back and looking at the video and the stats on his at basket it seems to me he has really struggled finishing since that last San Antonio Spurs game. I seem to remember him getting hit pretty hard in that game and laying on the floor for a little bit. More than exhaustion it looks to me like he is aching and really leery of contact. Prior to the last two weeks or so I don't remember him having these troubles really. In fact I was amazed at how well he was finishing prior to that.

It's going to be a fun summer. That's for sure.

Gortat and Morris both have the same problem. They generally have looked very good compared to their teammates. Unortunatley neither are really that good and can't be your best players if you are going to compete on a nightly basis. This team has far exceeded it's talent level. How and when will that talent level improve?

Gorswat! pathetic, he lost the game for us.

After this performance I now proclaim him expendable. Dudley is all that remains. Blow it up and re-sign Redd

Gortat is putting up nearly 16/10 this year. Yeah he's looked a little run down the past few weeks, but so has everyone else. And he seems to get knocked around a lot with no calls. I'm sure the abuse is starting to wear his body down.

He should NOT be the primary offensive option on any team. But he is here. Put him on a good team and he'll put that team over the top.

I was against trading him earlier in the year but not so much now, if the Suns can get a good offer. And it's not because of Gortat. It's because this team is going nowhere fast. So if there's a team that makes a ridiculously good offer then you have to at least listen.

It's quite funny how a few bad weeks by Gortat change your mind, guys ... after few poor games he "developed" from the season hero to the superior ducheback. Wow! Quite impressive, you are better than football (I mean ... soccer;-) ) supporters in Europe.

He may be 28, but this is his first full season in a league (with compressed calendar, so definitely more tiring). Till April he has been one of maybe two tools in the Suns machine that works correctly .... and than clearly situation in which he had quickly became the de facto leader of that team affected his form. It is clear that he improved a lot compared to the previous season but he isn`t still and will never be a twin of Dwight Howard , the only true center in this league that makes a difference, nor other Center Giant. Disastrous performance in the match with Jazz should not affect opinion of this 65 games he played this season. He still finished with 15.5 PPG /10 RPG /1.5 BPG. He is still in a top 10 in a league in: RPG, FGP, D-D; high in the classification of the best blocking monster in the entire NBA (16th in BPG, 14th in blocks made) and - what I believe is important for Slinslin - in efficiency rankings.

I may understand your bitterness but this team had to finish like that. Nothing worked correctly throughout whole season. Nash & Gortat, Brown, Morris ... some of them has had a few good weeks and a few bad weeks. Most of them played like crap whole season. They started to show any kind of involvement after Suns mathematically lost their chances to finish in a good place. De facto last few weeks showed not weaknesess of Gortat but the stupidity(or however you want to describe it : laziness, weakness, lack-of-basketball-inteligence etc.) of the rest of this team. If they would play like that whole season they might be in the middle of PO ranking. Now you are embittered by poor attitude during a few last games of one of the only players who wanted to do something in this season.

Ok, I`m Polish so I shouldn`t be considered objective. Ok. I like Gortat, I have seen that he has been poor last few games, especially yesterday. So what? Crappiness of Suns = crappiness of Gortat?

You have to realize that many of the people that are now bashing Gortat only recently began to actually focus on Suns games. They look at how he's played the past few games and assume that's all the guy is. They're wrong and the vast majority of us that continued to watch every game this season realize that. Unfortunately, he came up small in the biggest games of the season and that's provided a lot of ammunition for the other side.
