So, you're in the "no matter what, Kyler is awesome and can do no wrong" camp. Check.
FWIW, I like the guy. I'm simply able to take a step back and see the current flaws in his game, his regression late in the season, and plenty of room for improvement. What I don't see is a transcendent QB. Yet.
Not at all. I am in the very grateful we finally have a franchise QB who is setting record after record, got us into the playoffs, 10 wins so far, and helps make us a legitimate team. I see his areas for improvement as well.
Your not stepping back though and being balanced - you are throwing out all of the amazing parts to nitpick a few warts. The sum of the good/very good FAR outweigh the bad. Name the last franchise QB we have ever drafted since you have been a fan that has performed like Kyler. Spoiler - there aren't any.
Let's certainly continue to expect K1 to improve but let's not lose perspective on what we have (a franchise QB) and how he has performed (all that he has accomplished) in his first 3 years.
You keep throwing out transcendent. Hard to argue that he isn't a transcendent QB for our franchise. He is also just the 3rd QB we have drafted in the modern era to make the playoffs. He is not transcendent yet in the NFL but again, its hard to argue that he doesn't have the skillset to get there. You can't say that about any other QB we have EVER drafted.
