Ahhh yes. Forgot about B Johnson's dropped pass. He gave Leinart a 3 pointer!

What's working:

  • Playcalling = fine
  • Leinart = fine
  • James = runs extremely hard, tons of heart
  • Defense = fine except for 2 plays
  • Special teams = decent, still porous

What sucked really bad:

  • Offensive line = sucks like a japanese pornstar
  • Dennis Green = Much better playcalling/gameplan today, but it sure would've been nice to have a few timeouts in that last drive.
  • Adrian Wilson / Karlos Dansby = These two guys look like pro bowlers on one play, then like cardinals on the next. They've got to get more consistent.
  • #57 should have "Huff" removed from the back of his jersey and have it replaced with "Whiff"

I thought Dennis Green did a better job taking over some play calling responsibilities. It was just some poor execution. Bryant Johnson could have had that TD. Edge had 2 chances to get 1 yard. Neil Rackers missed his 3rd field goal of the season. The o-line was the biggest reason for the loss. There was no run blocking whatsoever and pass blocking was below average. Those guys are just bad. I think that's the reason we lost. Our secondary wasn't great either. They were fortunate that KC dropped the passes they did. I saw quite a few times were their recievers had good seperations.

I don't blame Denny for this one. It was a well played game, just a few miscues and I guess you can blame Denny and Graves for bringing in Brown and no one else.

Play calling... Why was the dump off in the middle of the field towards the end of the game? I am pretty sure Edge can run to the sidelines. Even if he is not open because of it, it makes some defender downfield come towards him opening it up someone downfield.

oline, a team that can control the ball wins.

2 TOs and a 14-0 lead should be unbeatable in the NFL.

It was the only chance Leinart had of making positive yardage. Leinart's a rookie, and even though he looked great for 90% of the game, that was definitely a rookie mistake on that play. Same goes for his sack he took earlier when he was rolling out to the left, he should've thrown the ball away instead of lose 10 yards.

There were other recievers on the sidelines but none were open. He was the safety reciever. If he ran a route to the side and was covered, which he would have been, then it would've probably been another sack by KC because Leinart would have no one to throw to.

How about no more ******** error!!! :bang:

I agree with that. There's only one reason for all these errors. And it isn't done in the NFL, so why bother to bring it up.

This team lacks discipline and accountability.

1. BJ's dropped pass.
2. Leinart's interception
3. Failing to make a first down on 2nd and 1.
4. Poor OL play, including false starts

It seems Green had some play calling today. And it looked pretty decent. He needed to do this from the game one. So which brings up the same old question "what in the hell we have Rowen for?". He really needs to get fired.

Here is the sequence that lost the game for the Cardinals:

Arizona Cardinals at 00:02 (end of third quarter)
1-10-ARI20 :)02) E.James up the middle to ARZ 29 for 9 yards (G.Wesley).
Fourth Quarter Arizona Cardinals continued...
2-1-ARI29 (15:00) E.James right tackle to ARZ 29 for no gain (J.Page, T.Hali).
3-1-ARI29 (14:21) E.James left tackle to ARZ 29 for no gain (J.Reed, K.Mitchell).
4-1-ARI29 (13:47) S.Player punts 37 yards to KC 34, impetus ends at KC 36, Center-N.Hodel, out of bounds.

As soon as the Cardinals lined up for the punt I told my son the Chief score here and the Cardinals will lose. Cardinals were still up by 10 but the previous series on offense showed the coaching staff was "playing to not lose."

Kansas City Chiefs at 13:39
1-10-KC34 (13:39) L.Johnson up the middle to KC 38 for 4 yards (D.Dockett).
2-6-KC38 (12:58) D.Huard pass deep middle to E.Kennison to ARZ 45 for 17 yards (R.Griffith).
1-10-ARI45 (12:21) L.Johnson up the middle to ARZ 43 for 2 yards (C.Okeafor).
2-8-ARI43 (11:46) D.Huard pass short right to R.Cruz pushed ob at ARZ 32 for 11 yards (A.Rolle).
1-10-ARI32 (11:26) D.Huard pass short right to S.Parker to ARZ 18 for 14 yards (A.Rolle).
1-10-ARI18 (10:46) D.Huard sacked at ARZ 20 for -2 yards (C.Cooper).
PENALTY on ARZ-G.Hayes, Illegal Contact, 5 yards, enforced at ARZ 18 - No Play.
1-10-ARI13 (10:19) L.Johnson left tackle to ARZ 15 for -2 yards (C.Okeafor).
2-12-ARI15 (9:42) D.Huard pass incomplete short right to S.Parker. PENALTY on ARZ-R.Tate, Defensive Pass Interference, 14 yards, enforced at ARZ 15 - No Play. Play Challenged by KC and REVERSED. D.Huard pass short right to S.Parker for 15 yards, TOUCHDOWN. Penalty on ARZ-R.Tate, Defensive Pass Interference, declined. L.Tynes extra point is GOOD, Center-K.Gammon, Holder-D.Colquitt.

KC 17 ARI 20, Plays: 7 Yards: 66 Possession: 4:04.

Cardinal started the 4th quarter up by 10 and the coaching staff was playing "not to lose" instead of playing to win!

The above exchange changed the momentum of the game and the Cardinals never got it back... Game over!!!

Put this loss on the coaching staff. The players played well enough to win.

From a Chiefs fan's perspective, it was just a few critical plays during the fourth quarter.

The first one that started the turning of the tide I think was when James got stopped on fourth down. (I think it was two successive running plays). If that gets converted, maybe Arizona moves down the field, gets a field goal, makes it a two touchdown game and bleeds several more minutes off the clock.

Other than that, the Leinert interception of course was maybe the most direct cause. But I think that also the way Leinert kept throwing to the middle of the field on the last drive caused at least half of the remaining time to be run off. Without those, maybe the drive stalls, but maybe it doesn't and you have enough time to move closer for the field goal.

The Cardinals outplayed the Chiefs for most of the game, credit where it's due. It was mostly I think the stop on 4th down and the two passes to the middle of the field that probably ran off :30 or :40 when time was at a premium with no time-outs.
