Some people have posted that, or that it will be just as bad in 2026, but I don't believe that's accurate.
Per
OTC, if cut before 1 June 2025, Murray carries a dead cap charge of $58.5M, and a net cap cost of $15.2M. It's quite possible to eat that amount and still field a viable roster, but given that it's Bidwill's team, it's much more realistic to envision Murray being cut before 1 June 2026, when his dead cap charge would be "only" $17.9M, and there would be a net savings of $35.3M.
Oddly, Murray's cap charge this year is $49.1M, but in 2025 it dips to "only" $43.3M, before rising again in 2026 to $53.3M.
