First, I don't think there's any chance AP comes here. However I'd like to address the points raised earlier about BA's pass happy offense and not being willing to accomodate it around a back like AP.
This makes zero sense logically, as BA tailored the offense last year around a much lesser back in Ellington. Fitz was still on the team in this pass happy offense and the offense didn't revolve around him even marginally. It was built around a back with little experience in the NFL who showed flashes his rookie year.
Therefore, it's entirely possible BA would find a way to give AP enough touches to keep him happy. Nobody knows what BA is willing to do or even how this offense is built from a foundation standpoint.
Frankly, I think the bigger concern on offense isn't the running game but our TE's. BA has used multiple TE formations everywhere he's been, consistently. If we can develop multiple TE's who can block and consistently catch the balls when they come their way, you can make do with a back like Ellington and a bigger, value back for the inside. We wouldn't need to spend the money on an AP and handicap other areas of the team.
Frankly, if we had better TE play, then suddenly Fitz is a better weapon and threat, Floyd gets open, Brown becomes lethal, and our RB, whoever that is, increases in value to average.
