Sorry...I was having a Pretty in Pink flashback...must need more therapy...I know they have many better songs than the one popularized by the forementioned movie.

McRad! "Yo, uh Tom! Prevent that tragedy!"

Hilarious. Alternative Tenticles is re-releasing HUGE amounts of old 80's skate punk on CD. Los Olividados, The FAction (I still have my vinyl copy of Dark Room) and others. Also The Feederz has been re-released on CD. Whoda thunk it?

But look up the Alternative Tenticles SKate rock series. Great stuff.

I knew that something had to have been up when I found the McRad CD. I could deal with some Olivelawn right now. My wife has a shoebox full of the old Skate Rock compilation tapes.

I will definately check it out right now.

Nice. I'm heading to Venice today after work for a few days. My friend lives (literally) steps from the skatepark on the beach. It's not much of a park, but it has a couple banks and a rail or two. I can't wait. I have a longboard, so most of my skating time will be just cruising down the boardwalk, cause the park is always crowded.

Also, they have an Amoeba Records in Hollywood. Have you been to Amoeba. It is the best record store I've ever been to (excluding toxic ranch in tuscon). Tons of used stuff, and vinyl out the ass.

Lots of great and funny posts here!

Remember Lionel Richie's "Hello" song? It came out when I was in 6th grade and the boys and girls were just starting to slow dance with each other. That one and "Almost Paradise" from Footloose were the two we always danced to.

INXS rocked. I used to sing "Guns in the Sky" all the time. And then, "Suicide Blonde" came out the summer I dyed my hair blond, after I graduated from high school and before I went to college. It was my theme song for the summer and I was on fire, LOL!

I was a big freestyle fan in high school. Went to lots of dances and what not. Loved "Silent Morning," "Please Don't Go" and anything by New Order.

Ah memories!
