Mainly because of the content and theme, I always thought it was a cool song but somehow taboo.

Rainbow "Gates of Babylon."

When I was in HS we used to call the local radio stations to request that song and they'd always play a different Rainbow song. We were stunned one day when they guy actually played Gates of Babylon.

Edit adding lyrics since many probably have no idea what I'm talking about.

Look away from the sea
I can take you anywhere
Spend a vision with me
A chase with the wind

Move closer to me
I can make you anyone
I think you're ready to see
The gates of Babylon

The power of what has been before
Rises to trap you within
A magic carpet ride a genie maybe more
A city of heavenly sin
Sleep with the devil and then you must pay
Sleep with the devil and the devil will take you away
Oh gates of Babylon

You can see but you're blind
Someone turned the sun around
But you can see in your mind
The gates of Babylon

You're riding the endless caravan
Bonded and sold as a slave
A sabre dance removing all the veils
Getting as good as you gave
Sleep with the devil and then you must pay
Sleep with the devil and the devil will take you away

Look away from the sea
I can take you anywhere
Spend a vision with me
A chase with the wind

Move closer to me
I can make you anyone
I think you're ready to see
The gates of Babylon

The power of what has been before
Rises to trap you within
A magic carpet ride a genie maybe more
A city of heavenly sin
Sleep with the devil and then you must pay
Sleep with the devil and the devil will take you away
Black gates of Babylon

The devil is me
And I'm holding the key
To the gates of sweet hell
Babylon

I did feel bad knowing Salt and Peppa's "Shoop", being a guy and all, but then at a local Piano Bar (don't knock it until you've been to one and hated it) a 300lb bouncer got up and did his rendition of it.

Really entertaining AND the ladies loved it.

... well I guess I still DO feel a little bad.

Ah well.

Shotgun bang!

Whatsup with that thang?

I wanna know

how does it hang?

Straight up, wait up, hold up

*sigh*

Is everything

Interesting you know that but don't realize there is no "and" and only 1 "P" in "Salt N Pepa".....

By the way, I only know that because it was in the LA Times crossword yesterday.

I can still bust out the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme song on demand.

In fact most people I know can.

It DOES seem obvious with the right answer staring me in the face.

I suppose this is another BIM mark on my record...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle

On a half shell they´re the heroes four
In this day and age who can ask for more
The crime wave is high with muggings mysterious
All police and detectives are furious
Cause they can´t find the source
Of this lethally evil force
This is serious so give me a quarter
I was a witness get me a reporter
Call April O´Neill in on this case and you better hurry up
There´s no time to waste
We need help like quick on the double
Have pity on the city, man its in trouble
We need heroes like the Lone Ranger when Tonto came pronto
When there was danger
They didn´t say We´ll be there in half an hour
Cause they displayed
Turtle Power!

Now our ace reporter was hot on the trail
Determined to put these crooks in jail
She spied the bad guys and saw what happened
But before she knew it she fell in the trap and got caught
Yeah she was all alone
With no friends and no phone
Now this was beyond her WORST dreams
Cause she was cornered by some wayward fiends
Headed by Shredder they were anything but good
Misguided, unloved, they called them the Foot
They could terrorize and be angry youth and
They loved the people who needed proof
Then from outta the dark came an awesome sound
Shouted COWABUNGA as they hit the ground
From the field the weeds the heroes rescued the flower
Cause they possessed

When you stand for what you believe in
And find the strength to do what´s right
That´s Turtle Power

Heroes on a half shell they´re on a mission
When there´s a battle got the enemy wishin'
That they stayed at home instead of fightin'
These Ninja Masters with moves like lightnin'
They were once normal but now they´re mutants
Splinter´s the teacher so they are the students
Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Donatello
Make up the team with one other fellow
Raphael
He´s the leader of the group transformed from the norm
By the nuclear goop
Pizza´s the food that´s sure to please
These ninjas are into pepperoni and cheese
Back to the story it´s not hard to find
Ninjas not just of the body but of the mind
Those were the words that the Master instructed
But a letter from Shredder has Splinter abducted
That was the last straw spring into action
Step on the Foot now they´re gonna lose traction
Now this is for real so you fight for justice
Your shell is hard so you shout They cant dust us off
Like some old coffee table
Since you were born you been willing and able
To defeat the sneak, protect the weak
Fight for rights and your freedom to speak
Now the villain is chillin' so you make a stand
Back to the wall put your sword in your hand
Remember the words of your teacher your master
Evil moves fast but good moves faster
Than light
Shining from your illumination
Good versus Evil equals confrontation
So when you´re in trouble don´t give in and go sour
Try to rely on your

"Bop to the Top" from High School Musical.

Actually, I know most of the soundtrack, being a father to three young girls. But, my oldest dances to that song, I've heard it 100's of times. I'm just going about my day and I realize "Bop, Bop, Bop, Bop to the Top..." is going through my head nonstop.

Oh, my child
Youll never know
Just what you mean to me
Oh, my child
You got so much
Youre gonna take away my energy

With all your jive talkin
Youre telling me lies, yeah
Good lovin
Still gets in my eyes
Nobody believes what you say
Its just your jive talkin
That gets in the way

Oh my love
Youre so good
Treating me so cruel
There you go
With your fancy lies
Leavin me lookin
Like a dumbstruck fool
With all your

I don't know about best song ever, but I will admit that I know dang near every word to every Bee Gees song, and I have a wide assortment of their music on my mp3 player... :)

Are you pulling my leg??

Who, me?

some newspaper said:
Idol' Singers Hope Night Ends On High Note
May 8, 2007

Now that the gender balance on "American Idol" has shifted to 3-1 women, they might be better equipped to handle the tremulous falsetto of this week's mentor, Barry Gibb.

The eldest Bee Gee brother will be on hand tonight to advise the contestants as they pick songs from his million-selling group; he'll return to perform during the results show.

What songs will the final four choose? Well, picture Blake Lewis beat-boxing to "You Should Be Dancing," Jordin Sparks reliving "New York Mining Disaster 1941," Melinda Doolittle solid on "Emotion" and LaKisha Jones stayin' alive on "To Love Somebody."

Both Phil Stacey and Chris Richardson were eliminated last week, though votes were included from the previous week's massive "Idol Gives Back" promotion, when nobody was eliminated.

The two-man elimination ironically came after a week of macho songs by the Jersey band Bon Jovi.

The surviving trio of soulful female singers each expressed frustration in adapting to a rock style; last-man-standing Lewis survived only by reinventing "You Give Love a Bad Name" with his beat box style.

Will being the last guy in the race help or hurt him? It'll probably depend on his Bee Gees song choice.

I was actually being sarcastic when I called it the best song ever. ;) However, it has one of the funkiest bass grooves along with the fact that it is awesome to listen to while wasted...a guaranteed sing-a-long fest.

Lord, when I was in preschool (around '79) my parents got me a Bee Gees tote bag. I also would listen to "Saturday Night Fever" nonstop. The Bee Gees have always been among my music guilty pleasures...even their earlier material including "I've Gotta Get A Message To You" and "To Love Somebody".

Another song I'm guilty to know all the lyrics to is Lipps Inc. "Funky Town": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUm6TCbEK0g

Gotta make a move to a
Town that's right for me
Town to keep me movin'
Keep me groovin' with some energy

Well, I talk about it
Talk about it
Talk about it
Talk about it
Talk about, Talk about
Talk about movin

Gotta move on
Gotta move on
Gotta move on

Won't you take me to
Funkytown
Won't you take me to
Funkytown
Won't you take me to
Funkytown
Won't you take me to
Funkytown

Gotta make a move to a
Town that's right for me
Town to keep me movin'
Keep me groovin' with some energy

Well, I talk about it
Talk about it
Talk about it
Talk about it
Talk about, Talk about
Talk about movin

Gotta move on
Gotta move on
Gotta move on

Won't you take me to
Funkytown
Won't you take me to

Won't you take me to

Bump.

This thread has so much more potential.

I know all the words to the Bon Jovi soundtrack of Young Guns II. :)

Next?
