Attention to detail and accountability is what is missing. From the HC to the inactive player for that day. Lack of effort and probably a total lack of leadership.

That banner should have hung and maybe these idiots would realize the fans can even see the glaring mistakes and bad ST coaching! Still a huge FU to the folks that didn't let that banner hang!

Someone needs to put Arians in the concussion protocol

And of course the wuss reporters don't ask a follow up regarding how many loses they've directly caused, their ranking near the bottom of every ST category and how that matches up with his statement.

The response by the reporter then should be, "if the coaching is extremely well, then you acknowledge we must have morons on our special teams" :)

I know BA has to say the right things and it sucks to criticize a guy who is in the hospital, but I dont think BA's health depends on my opinion of him so obviously, I wish him nothing but the best health and a speedy recovery,,,, but sorry if he thinks that this special teams unit is "EXTREMELY well coached" then he needs to retire because my 10 year old daughter can see that it's not well coached. That's a load of crap and he should have more respect for the fan base by atleast acknowledging that it's a problem.

He doesn't need to throw the coach under the bus but he can say; I'm disappointed in that unit, or they haven't performed up to expectations, but no it's an "extremely well coached unit."

Bad punts, bad snaps, bad kicks, bad coverage, no blocking on returns. I mean seriously, the whole team has been disappointing but special teams have been a consistent, unmitigated disaster. I mean this guys evasiveness all season really has made me lose a ton of respect for him as a coach.

We are really starting to see the warts on this guy that kept him from being a head coach for 30 years or whatever it was. Arians is showing more and more that he plays favorites and some guys are just beyond reproach while others, like David Johnson, can barely get acknowledged by the coach and he constantly focuses on their mistakes over their successes.

EVERYONE needs to be accountable. BA has no problem throwing players under the bus. The same needs to apply to his coaching staff.

some stats i have been wondering about ( i.e. have special teams really been consistently bad, or am i imagining this?)

not sure if this will line up, but i looked at Punt returns yards per punt, both for and against. Kick return yards per kick, both for and against. Finally, blocked punts ( Pro Football Ref doesnt list blocked FGs, so its not here)

For ease -- I bolded what looked to me like decent performance

during the Amos Jones era:

Punt return avg, net dff: 2016 -4.3, 2015 -4.4, 2014 +1.8 (one TD scored, Ginn vs NYG) 2013 -3.1

Kick return avg, net diff: 2016 -4 (1 TD given) , 2015 -.2 (1 TD scored, DJ vs CHI), 2014 -7, 2013 -4

Punts blocked 2016 -1, 2015 -1, 2014 -2, 2013 -

So -- 58 games in --- the best we can say is that we are plus 1 kick return TDs net.

on the other hand: we have surrendered more yards in punt returns in 3 out of 4 years and by a good margin. Cards have surrendered more yards in kick off returns than gained in every single year

worse: the Cards have had 4 punts blocked in four years, not a single one blocked for the Cards.
