Free agent center Spencer Hawes is visiting with the #Suns later today.

Insurance for Frye? Center depth is never bad, Hawes would be another perfect floor stretcher for Lebron.

Mixed feelings. If we're giving up Len (or giving up on Len) I can see the need for another center, even one like Hawes. So if this is preparation for putting pieces around Lebron then it would make sense.

Although I think Hawes would be a much better addition than Frye, I dislike him after learning about his toilet paper.

The Suns need to keep Len.

Why couldn't he play PF? He can shoot and rebound like a PF. He would have the size advantage most of the time. I've read he is only looking for around $8M a year, not bad considering how much other FA's are getting.

He can replace Frye as PF. Hawes and Len can be part of the same front court.

He can and he will if he signs with PHX.

He's insufficiently mobile on the defensive end. That's the standard reason that double-C lineups don't work.

I think Plumlee can play the PF position although his mid-range shooting needs to improve. Actually, why not play Hawes at center as a starter or backup center. There are worse things than having three centers. Actually I think a lot of teams do.

he is a MUCH better rebounder than Frye. He is not a chucker either. Prior to this year, I don't recall him shooting too many threes. I would be surprised if he ever averaged more than 1 three point attempt prior to this season. This season, he was a much better shooter than Frye as well. I think he could play alongside Plumlee and/or Len just fine.

Having said all that, he is not the type of a big man (PF or C) that I want on this team.

If I was a rich basketball player I'd probably hate Obama too.

I think one should have a bigger view of the world than money and race. Also how about respecting the office of President. "Hate" is a nasty word.

I have pushed for the Suns to go after Hawes for a long time as I think he is a good fit. I can only hope he viewed the situation as a big joke and nothing more.

I think I'd rather just keep Frye between the two. Frye already has an established leadership role in the locker room.

I have no problem with Hawes as a floor stretcher because he still manages ro rebound - the question is his ability to defend PF's. One sign that he's fairly mobile is that he challenges more players at the rim than Channing does- 11.9/36 min vs 8.3 for Frye. They both have the same FG% against so Hawes bothers considerably more shots and blocks a few more - 1.4/36 vs 1.0/36. Naturally that does not speak to his defense on the perimeter and I'd guess Channing has the edge there.

My guess is that we'd want Hawes to defend opponents centers because he is so effective close to basket and if my only choice was Hawes or Frye, I'd take Hawes in a heartbeat and live with the problem of Plumlee and Len defending PFs. IMO, what we can't afford is a PF who rebounds like Frye does, or Patterson.

Well its not just tax policy that he has a problem with. The dude is a hate spewing right wing Ann Coulter loving PR machine who goes public on everything from climate change to health care. https://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nba-...n-it--according-to-evan-turner-020442224.html

Sounds like he would fit right in as a candidate for Arizona Governor. But if he joins the Suns, his PR will likely join forces with other clowns that have given Arizona a bad name and become a distraction for the basketball team. I say no thanks.

Hopefully, if Hawes joins the Suns he will take a page from Gortat's book and just keep his mouth shut. I know we all marveled at Marcin's ability to just stay quiet and play ball.

Hawes is officially off by wish list. I can only hope he is off the Suns radar. Too much hate in Arizona already. Channing Frye is looking better and better. He can do the same things and he is a nice person.

Yeah, we know how that turned out.

IMO, this is a big reason he is no longer a Sun. If he kept quiet and played basketball, he might still be with the Suns.

Seriously? I don't believe that for a second.
