They should just try to win over more fans period...Hispanic, Asian, Caucasian...whatever.
That's exactly how I feel about it. Besides, I think they are fighting a tough battle trying to convert Cowboy fans, but who knows?
the only problem with that is that there are a lot of mexican cowboys too. so texas and mexico are kind of interlocked in their culture. If you go to South Texas you will see what i'm talking about. jetstream probably understands what I mean. How about this for the ad campaign in Mexico?-
The Cowboys. Remember San Jacinto?
or
The Cowboys. The ones who took Texas from you.
well said. Eventhough the cowboys fans might have as many fans across the country as they've ever had and I myself didn't realize their popularity untill I left texas....i think non-cowboys fans have grown more annoyed with the old cliche' more than ever. and it's because as you say the league is very popular now across the board. and there is a lot of success to go around. oilers fans will cheer for any other team. Ironically the oilers fans I know are not texan fans. a lot of them like the titans.I live in South Texas which is tradionally Cowboy country, the Texans having a very small following even though Houston is closer...funny but a name carries a lot of weight, because when Houston lost the name Oilers it really affected the fan base outcome. But I would say the Hispanic population is largely Cowboy based, and I say this with all respect to all the die-hard Hispanic fans of the Cardinals. The Cowboys are really not America's team anymore with the success of Direct Ticket and Fantasy football and how it has opened fan support to players which are not in ones state but I will say the Cowboy's have become Mexico's team and it will be hard to change that. The main thing which a lot have already stated...if you want fans...just win and that will follow
Until this year, I've never seen the Cards have as much gear in ANY store as the out of town teams.I've noticed a lot more cardinals logos out there after this season. amongst all people. You can already see a change. I will say somethings wrong when you go to a khols store and a certain out of town team has as much merchandise as the hometown team. but if the cards keep winning the bandwagon will start filling up with the home market population. then it will filter out from there. regardless of race or anything else. if the cards keep up the good work they will be fine and well represented.
They aren't Cowboys, they're Vaqueros.the only problem with that is that there are a lot of mexican cowboys too.
trueThey aren't Cowboys, they're Vaqueros.
