They didn't start Duncan, Ginobli or Parker. Looks like we will get Portland in Round 1 if we win tonight.

"Laying down" Spurs down 62-69 with 2:56 left in the 3rd quarter.

Parker has played about 24 minutes so far.

Smart move by Popovich. Dallas playing at full strength and finding it hard to put away a Spurs team without Duncan and Ginobili at home That series is going to go 6 games at least

I just watched the whole last half of the third qtr and the mavs have been maintaining a 10 pt lead with dirk on the bench the whole time. I think this series is going to 6 regardless of what happens tonight. However, the mavs have been a major thorn in the side of the spurs over the last 5 years or so.

am watching it right now on league pass. Your starters are playing major minutes but the cant seem to get past an 11pt lead until the early 4th qtr. They should have dominated this game at home. The only reason it is not a lot less is because temple, bonner and mason are rimming 3 pointers.

It really doesn't matter. A win is a win and a win means we won the season series regardless of who plays. i have a lot of respect for the spurs because of their titles. but the mavs have defeated them in the playoffs in their prime.

the mavs are not playing defense and are giving up uncontested layups and three pointers. jason jumpshot terry hurts the mavs as much as he helps them sometimes. also the boneheaded coach is often happy with playing jj barea who makes steve nash look all NBA first team defense....while leaving beaubois on the bench?

I was just commenting on that. I have no doubt he will need sometime to get used to that "gas mask" :). Is that permanent or until he completely heal

Man, Haywood is such a huge pickup for the Mavs; so long and rebounds really good.

I hope it's not permanent, because he has played like poop since his injury. jason terry is hard for me to watch because he doesn't use his ability to get to the basket. the guy is one of the fastest guards in the league who doesn't like to attack the rim in the halfcourt. I don't get it...he's ok to fire bricks though.

yeah he was probably the better pickup over butler based on the mavs needs with dampier needing less mins. butler gives the mavs toughness that they had been lacking since josh howard started to decline.

dallas wins 96-89

something tells me the next meeting will be more passionate....neither team played any defense. the score doesn't indicate the defensive effort. a lot of easy buckets were missed by both teams.

the spurs still scare me. I know they beat the spurs in 5 last year with a weaker team...but on the flip side ginobli was out. parker was a beast in that series...i hope they use beaubois to neautralize him. to me barea's lack of defense should stay on the bench in the playoffs. I think the mavs can blow the spurs out if they play their A game. but this series will probably be a long one.

It all depends on manu. If he plays like he did the final part of the season, spurs will beat mavs.

I don't know. Even when Manu, Timmy and Parker were at their peak, the Mavs beat them back in their hey-day. Even with him at full strength, this series would be a toss up. I think the Mavs win in 6.

Either way, i'm looking forward to it. Actually I'm juiced up to watch the entire western conference.

The question is, who should we be rooting for? If lopez was healthy I think it's an easy call, play the spurs. But now I'm really not sure. Dallas would have home court over us.

agreed. it's REALLY nice to be a) relevant again and b) out of the Lakers bracket!

Call me crazy, but whether or not we get Lopez back, I think the Spurs are the better matchup. Dallas just has too much size for us. Their bigs always give Amare problems and Dirk just flame-throws our ass now.
