@AzStevenCal

Booker is probably telling the other players all his turnovers are their fault. LMAO

Jackson has repeatedly said glowing things about Booker as a player and a leader so hopefully Devin is above blaming others for his mistakes. That could easily backfire.

It was my attempt at humor. :wink2:

Just watched the whole game.
Ayton played with a touch more effort.
JJ played the most in control game of the season.
Booker had a career high in assists, and probably the same in turn overs! LOL.
Bridges starts and they win! Hmmm. Coincedence?
Ariza doesn't play, and we win. Another Coincedence?
TJ has to be on track for most improved! 22% last season from three to 46%? Unreal!

Big Question, can Ayton not be pushed around in the upcomong Thunder game? Let's see if he can bring more intensity next game.

I still don't get why Ariza is so bad. He should be better. He is not that old.

Again, NOBODY disagrees with you. I have no idea why you keep making the same argument when everyone agrees with you.
BC: We need a point guard.
Everyone else: Yep, agreed.
BC: But we need a point guard.
Everyone else: Um, yes, we agree.
BC: But we need a point guard...

Damnit, Steph, I respond to posts. And I try to add a fresh point supporting it if there is one.

The latest being what playing the Point has done to Booker's shooting.

Your quotes above are comical, but inaccurate. I am by far not the only one posting about it.

Why don't you just put me on Ignore! Or do you enjoy repeating the same thing over and over, which you do. Welcome to the club. :)

Actually not even a season high in turnovers. He had 9 against the Warriors.

He isn't as bad as some are making him out to be.

Yes he has had some stinker games, but he is definitely like the Suns fifth or sixth best player like him or not.

I think that speaks a lot to our lack of depth. Ariza has been quite bad and I don't think it is because he is incapable, but because he is just not fully engaged mentally/emotionally. I really don't think he wants to be here at this point.

I think its because he is a complementary player off of the bench. He has been that his entire career. He is not starter caliber. Most of his bones have been made against back ups. We are asking him to do something that is beyond him.

Maybe, but he has had quite a few moments of looking quite dejected. He needs to be a positive influence in the locker room and on the floor regardless how poorly things are going. That was the number one reason he was brought in and he is not living up to that.

Early in his career he came off the bench but after his Laker stint he was a starter, except his first year in Wash.

Ariza came to the Suns to get paid. I'm sure he will play fine when he is traded to a playoff contender.

I'm curious if the Suns go on a run without Ariza, will he play worth a damn when he does rejoin the team? He played with effort in the Mavericks game but was a little slow in the Denver game. Since then he's fallen off considerably. At the time Booker was out and I'm sure he knew the odds of the Suns doing well without Booker were slim and that could have caused him to start mailing in his effort but I wonder if he'll gain any sense of urgency back while here.

I think the Suns are better off without Anderson and Ariza. The Kings decided to play their younger players and it is paying dividends. The Suns need to do the same. I'd add Daniels to that list.

Daniels is better than Anderson or Ariza, which says something for how much they've sucked. He's only making $3.3 million on an expiring deal also. I could see him being traded because he can provide some 3pt shooting off the bench for a team that lacks shooting off the bench but he's also at his peak for the most part. He's not going to get much better but at his salary I don't think anyone needs to count on that. I wouldn't mind seeing him kept in case there is an injury to one of our guards or wings.

He's probably only worth a 2nd round pick in a trade but he might be able to bring back a rookie scale player who hasn't done much on their current team that is in "win-now" mode. I'm not sure who but I wouldn't be surprised if he were dealt or kept. He's not making much of a difference on our bench but he hasn't seen much playing time either. He's a shooter though and should get a look occasionally. If his shot is falling, great, if it's not then we sit him. He's a poor man's Jamal Crawford and we got the real thing so we don't need him. If he had Crawford's ball handling skills then I think he would get more playing time.

For now James Jones made two good moves. Tyson gone and Crawfords signing. Crawford might be a dinosaur but he plays hard.

Canaan with his second 3 point shot.

Suns lead 13-5 in the 1st quarter.

I read this far in the thread and thought to myself, what a wonderful world, logged onto NBA league pass and watched the sterns take a whooping.

Let's pray to the powers that might or might not be that a light went on in the head of the kids involved, that effort and aggressiveness = competitive basketball, excitement, fun.

So Booker tried to pull a mumbo and just pass instead of scoring, hmm, maybe a good idea on paper, but he had a tough game. The other guys, Ariza, Ayton, Warren, Bridges, Jackson did just what they should. Ariza DNP, Ayton played like a mildly irritated dog, Bridges started and got some minutes, played under control, Warren was a huge star, Jackson played under control and did a lot of good things. Melton should have gotten more minutes, but Cannon was hot, so ride the hot hand, good job by the coach, and J Crossover is the only decent veteran (40+) we have.

I hope this time they have some pep in their step and try to hit the Thunder hard in the first quarter. And the second and the third, so hopefully we're close in the fourth.

Bender sighting. Guarding no one.

I thought, who's that white kid, then he runs to the corner, ah, it's Bender. He's just in there, going through the motions.

He did try some things in the few minutes he got, but I think he was just surprised to get playing time and did what's he's been trained to do.

If coach K can hear me, tell him this: I am gonna play you in spurts as a defensive stopper. All you do is play defense like a bad donkey, crash the glass, and run the floor. On offense you play the system as you've done in practice. Look to score. Crash the glass and get back on D. You'll have the same role as Holmes. Nothing fancy, just maximum effort when you're in there.

Smilies aside, the "Wilks" crap is old, but we are all just coping/"fanning" the best we can. Let's keep it civil and chill.

I think we should be allowed to wallow in our misery being this bad, we have to do whatever it takes to power through, dark humour and all. I don't get the Wilks reference by the way.

Steve Wilks is the current head coach of the Arizona Cardinals. I thought the name was familiar the first time I saw it used here but wasn't sure because I knew the Cardinals just hired a new coach this season. So calling Igor "Wilks" really makes little to no sense considering Steve Wilks has been a head coach as long as Igor as, he just became one this year. Since the NFL season starts before the NBA season though you could say he's been at it a little longer. Igor has coached more games than Wilks at this point though. It's really a stupid reference. If you're going to call Igor inexperienced and disappointing there are other ways to do it, like calling him "Hornacek". Suns fans would get that.

The point I was making, I would rather the Suns play the younger players like Bridges and Jackson than players who are not going to be on the roster next season. If the Suns can trade Daniels for an asset, more power to them.

One would hope that once they write off the season and go full tank they’ll do this. I think we’re pretty much there.

I agree the Suns are pretty much in tank mode even if it is unintentional. This is not to say I do not want them to make improvements for next season. TJ McConnell is not getting much playing time. It would be nice to add a point guard like him to see how everything works with more traditional lineups.

I don't think they're in tank mode or will go into tank mode like in past seasons. It makes no sense to go into that until we can unload Ariza, at the least. We're just in a youth movement where our record doesn't matter. I don't think we'll see Booker or Warren sit out a good number of games like they did last year. Without Ariza though minutes will open up for Jackson and Bridges, like they have with him gone and TJ taking over for Anderson. We might try to tank if we're right in the thick of it at the very end of the season but with the changed percentages it wouldn't make sense to go full on tank. If we sat our 3 best player then we would be sitting either Bridges or Ayton, depending on who you ask. At years end it will likely be Ayton, Booker, and Warren as our 3 best players.
