Ah, the proverbial blind squirrel finds the acorn once in awhile. We all saw it last year. A team with decent talent gets hot at the right time and rides the momentum all the way to the big dance. It was AMAZING!! ...BUT that was then and this is now. The more I read about the front office's shenanigans :bang: the more I find it difficult to see how the Cards have really changed. Explain to me how a front office can take all the euphoria of last year and destroy it in less than a month?? It's almost beyond belief. I see solid coaching & leadership in Whiz' & staff. I see a roster w/ above average talent. I see a scouting dept. that has had more hits than misses in recent years. I see a loyal fan-base that grew in numbers last year. BUT what I DON'T see is an ownership willing to build a dynasty. That being said, in spite of mgmt.'s hindrance, we may STILL find our way back to the Super Bowl. Someday. GO CARDS!

This is the time of year to pray for the Squirrels and Acorns of Flagstaff July training camp to come quickly without much controversy.

MTL not happening in todays NFL, though.;)

You want us to build a dynasty like the Steelers for example? They are more than willing to let players go when they ask for too much money in free agency. What about the Patriots? Exact same thing.

Kurt isn't worth 12M no way no how.

Again if he can help lead us to the Show again, how much is THAT WORTH?

Ok, you win. 2 year 12 million contract with a 5M bonus each year if he brings us back to the superbowl.

That contract is not happening.

But if they take the division again and host a playoff game, this team generates 8-9M in ticket sales alone.

And it all should be given to Kurt Warner right?

Nah...but if they want to throw a chunk my way , I'll give them my humble services. :p

But really....I'm just saying, this teams expectations should be sky high with another year of the same group. And the payouts are substantial and a boon to the org.
At least they should be.

IMHO the FO is doing pretty well considering that Warner is holding them hostage to get Q a new deal. (the FO can't do anything with Q until Warner signs----Warner won't sign until Q is taken care of). I don't believe it is the FO that is holding things up. It seems to me they have Warner's salary bracketed pretty well. In this economy, they can't afford to overspend.

WildBB, don't forget that the visiting team gets half of the ticket sales. So, each playoff game brings in around $3.5 M. Also, if they make too much, the next year, the Cards will have to contribute to the NFL overall fund of money.

I think before UOP stadium, they were always on the low end of NFL cash flow, but since UoP, they been in the top 10. I think in the last 2 years they have had to send money to the NFL fund instead of receive.

The dynamics of the rich vs poor NFL teams is all going to be redone in the next CBA.

And they don't overspend with the cap limit in place. It's there for a reason. It keeps teams profitable.

Another slant on the Warner/Boldin saga is that if Warner signs for what the Cardinals want him to, there is no guarantee they're going to keep Boldin or spend the money on their players.

Really?! I did not know that. Why wouldnt the Cards get to keep everything, they earned the home playoff game?
