I don't think so, in the current incarnation of the NFL there isn't much that is celebrated prior to Super Bowl I
Convenient memory, I think. For the majority of teams, nothing exists to celebrate prior to the '60s.
But if we're going to ignore the past, then the Ring of Honor is unnecessary, at least as far as most of the names up there are concerned. Sure they should acknowledge those championships...both of them.
As to the so-called controversy of 1925, if you read the history, the winner of the NFL championship in 1925 was the Chicago Cardinals. Yes, they scheduled two games after playing Pottsville against easy teams, but even throwing out the game that included four high schoolers, Pottsville was already out of the league (after getting three warnings, greed won out over following rules, so Pottsville knew what they were doing). Besides, playing hastily arranged games was no more troubling than Pottsville scheduling six of their wins against opponents who had just played games one day before meeting Pottsville.
