As far as what everyone else is saying about the AC - I'm with the group scratching their heads about it - I was in the lower deck, 50 yard line, 38 rows up and everyone around me was fanning themselves and wondering why with an AC dome it was still as hot as it was, especially considering most of the same people attend D-Back games and never felt the same issues. So the AC had me scratching my head.

I was way up in the cheap seats and couldn't have been more comfortable. All I know was after tailgating for an hour that blast of cold air sure felt great as we entered the stadium.

I also can't wait to go to a game where the roof is open - that should be awesome!

I'm with you on that one!

I gotta say - it was weird being in that stadium - after 18 yars of SDS, it almost felt like I was in a visiting stadium just chekcing out the Cards. Don't get me wrong, the place is gorgeous and it's gonna be a great homefield advantage for us if this team really gets rolling, but it was just a little weird after all those years....
It was surreal, huh? Maybe I was getting heat stroke from tailgating, but it seemed almost dream-like having all those fans cheering on the Cards in that brand new stadium. :raccoon:

PS- I also really enjoyed the Larry Wilson Ring of Honor induction. That was cool seeing "Mr. Cardinal" honored by the franchise that he gave so much of his life to.

I enjoyed how it went over in time and pushed out the "Toyota Halftime Touchdown Dance Contest". Unfortunately we had to witness it during the end of the 3rd quarter. Stupid contest. :barf:

The AC was fine where I was at. It felt pretty good. Restrooms were good, parking was good, traffic was good, shuttles were good, consessions were good.

The only complaint I have is the sound system. Echo all over the place. They have got to get that thing dialed in.

Will it sound better with the roof open?

Oh yeah one more complaint. 2 guys next to me fell a sleep with full beers in their hands only for one of them to drop his while asleep and soak my right shoe. How do you fall asleep at a football game, even if you are drunk thats hard to do.

As for the parking, we got to West orange at 9 a.m. to tailgate no problem but leaving after the game was another story. We were on the South side of the Great Lawn and a car next to us moved just 3 car lengths in 30 minutes. I think next game we need to park at the Soutwest end of the Great Lawn to exit more quickly. Other than that, it was awesome!!

Wow... I was on the North side of the lawn, West Orange... Left when the game was complete, waited in line to get out but I was on the freeway in under 15 minutes, about 10 or so... They ushered us out the same exit, they must have made you guys wait on us... :D I did see a few drivers acting like it was taking a long time, yelling and hitting the steering wheel, chastising the attendants and the like but it was less than 15 minutes out for us...

Section 135? LOL, there were 2 guys passed out in their seats with beers in their hands in front and to the right of us.. It was hilarious because the one on the right, further away, would wake up every 20 minutes or so and take a slug of beer then pass right back out... (they looked like brothers, btw)

I noticed that they ushered out your lane more often. They need to keep your lane to the West while ours is turning and taking the East lane.

I was in the upper corner and was actually a little chilly a few times during the game. I'm usually always hot, but not yesterday.

I wonder if some of you felt the effects of the Black Eyed Peas flame thrower things. I know we could feel those things all the way up in Section 436 evertime they went off. After those things went off for a while, it definently heated up the stadium for a while. Thankfully it cooled back down in our section. Maybe some of that heat was still trapped elsewhere along the upper deck somewhere.

Shane, you would have lost your freaking mind if you had been at the first pittsburgh game. If you thought the concourses were cramped in this game, they were AWFUL in that game. They are great now, but I have that experience as a measuring stick.

I agree!

Much better this time. Concession lines were short, no major issues in the concourses at all. Parking was quick and a quick out after the game.

They seemed to have made some adjustments. Just to see cops actually directing traffic was a big change for the better.

Yea they were still very cramped. It took me 25 minutes to get from lower level to my seat during halftime. Thats ridiculous. Sorry it just is about 10 of those minutes I was standing still or moving at a snails pace due to no room to maneuver. The concourses really arent that wide especially compared to other stadiums. But like I said I will take it over SDS anyday.

as far as the AC in the upperdeck goes....think about it.

1.) heat rises, while cool air sinks. its OBVIOUSLY going to be warmer near the top.
2.) the heat is coming from the roof. if your closer to where the heat is coming from, then you are OBVIOUSLY going to be warmer.

no sense in making 40,000 people freezing cold in order to please the upper deckers who are a little warm.

Sorry not buying what your selling. Not more then 15 feet above my head was a big azz air conditioning vent pointing straight down. And many more of them all around the upper level. They felt great when they kicked on which was about twice maybe 3 times during the entire game. With vents all around the stadium and even up high getting air really shouldnt be a problem. At least you wouldnt think so.

The Club level is heaven. Glad I spent the extra $25 a game.

TV Picture for home games should be far better than what we got from SDS.

The only complaint I have is that there are too many people tailgating! It looked like Hong Kong. Didn't get to see half the people I normally do because we couldn't find them. Couldn't even find Ratz and his BIG RED HumV who was only in the next parking section a few 100 feet away.

I liked it better when you could stand in one spot outside SDS and see every one of the other tailgates. :D

Yeah, I came looking for ya early and found JasonKGME and Derm grilling away but you and Mike and Eddie weren't there yet. Derm came over and so did JasonKGME. Formulating a plan to get in the W Prefered for next game by Derm but the W lot was Heaven....NO WAY I EVER GO BACK TO SUNDEVILS DUMP....We had a great tailgate except you guys weren't there. The Bears fans next to us had there TV and Receiver blow up on them so they watched on the Hummers 26" Plasma I had installed.:D

My one complaint was the line to get into the stadium. Security is too slow and it was freakin' HOT out there. They need to speed up that process somehow.

They should have more security officers checking the guys and less checking the women. I had no problem getting in and didn't have to wait in line. Of course, all the women who came with men had to stand there and wait for the guy to get in after them.

The ladies room situation R-O-C-K-S! Thank you, Cardinals! :)

From where I sit, I still can't understand what anyone says in any of the pregame ceremonies. There are multiple echos. :(

Also, is it just me or are there very few replays during the game?

OK, here is my updated list of complaints;

* Sound is still terrible. Cant understand the refs or the PA announcer.
* Replays are lousy. Show the big plays!
* No closed captioning. Could go a long way toward satisfying #1.
* Song selection. Playing Coldplay at a NFL game should get you punched in the junk.
* Continual graphics problems on the big screen (QBs being 0/0 for 134 yards). Putting Trent Green's picture up.
* No league leader statistics during the game. Seattle has awesome scrolling scoreboards that show the high WRs, RBs, QBs for the day.
* No in-game statistics scoreboard.
* No continual out of town scoreboard.
* No highlights of other games.

SDS was actually much, much better with replays. The person in charge would actually show what the fans wanted to see. Many angles, speeds, etc. Now we're lucky just to get a basic replay.

The new stadium gets the opposing qb stat screen wrong every week, too.

That is a silly arguement. For the price tag, we should see features that would be considered standard in a new NFL venue.

it is not an argument. I didn't challenge anything in your post. Kinda touchy.

My bad, sorry.

I guess my point is that we have upgraded to this brand-new, so-called state of the art facility that is still missing many standard amenities. With SDS, we pretty much knew what we had, being in a college stadium and all.

All those points are very valid and I agree...the lack of info on the scoreboard is an unbelievable tragedy. wtf...c'mon use that board to its capabilities.

However, I must say that the traffic getting in and out has improved dramatically. Also...actually getting through security has improved by leaps and bounds. I was back probably 200 feet in a mass of thousands and got through security in probably 5-7 minutes. Not too shabby.
