I called Channel 12 last night to complain about interrupting the hockey game and the guy at the news desk said that "people are being forced from their homes, this is important". Two minutes later, the news head came on and explained why they were interrupting the game.

I do a quick scan of the channels and 15 has Wheel of Fortune, 10 has Will & Grace, 5 has CBS Evening News. Apparently, the rest of Phoenix didn't think it was that important.

Anyways, 10 minutes later they switched to the hockey game. Great series. I really thought Carolina would close it out, but heading back to Edmonton, the Oilers seem to be the favorites in Game 6. If it gets to Game 7 in Carolina, should be a great game.

Yeah, that guy sounded pretty defensive when he came on the air.

I still don't get the Channel 2 thing, but whatever. Jurecki was talking about it on the radio this morning and agreed with all of us.

Good. I was a little surprised to hear that so many hockey fans called and wrote in, but that is great!

Great hockey post-season in my opinion. Hockey is definitely back and as strong as ever, as far as I'm concerned.

Just imagine now, next year at this time we could be celebrating a coyotes Stanley cup.

I'm interested to see the ratings. I was surprised to see the reaction in Phoenix when Channel 12 interrupted the coverage...it seemed like there were quite a few people who were upset. Maybe there were more people watching than was expected.

Days after winning the Stanley Cup, captain Rod Brind'Amour has recieved a new 5 year contract (worth something like $17M) at age 35. What in the world are the Hurricanes thinking?

Pretty amazing that Carolina played a total of 25 post season games (max possible is 28 ) with a final record of 16-9 in the post season.

That's basically another 1/3 of a season and two more months of playing. You would think that teams in the finals would be at a disadvantage the following season with only 3 months of rest and 25 more games played the previous season -- but that's usually not the case.
