You know BA will always go with his boy Stanton over Gabby if he's healthy enough to play. This charade is to put pressure on DS to play better and to appease the fans clamoring for Gabby. He'll name DS Friday.

Actually, I fully expect Gabbert, if he plays, to complete like 58% of his passes for 6.5 YPA with a TD and an INT. If people want to take a victory lap on that when there's no film of Gabbert in the offense, more power to 'em.

Drew Stanton might not have been that bad last week; people are undervaluing how good Seattle's defense is. According to FootballOutsiders' DYAR metric, Stanton had a top 5 performance on the week. Seattle has the #7 defense in the NFL in DVOA.

Kind of like people taking a victory lap on Adrian Peterson after the Bucs. There's an advantage to going into a new system where no one has film on you (and you're playing a bad team). Houston's defense is 15th in DVOA overall, and 16th against the pass. In bad news for Peterson, they're 6th against the run.
All that tells me is FO, DVOA, and DYAR are utterly useless and hot garbage except to Cleveland's front office who, like you, seem to place value on them.

Curious to see if he can handle the offense at game speed. Hard to learn the offense in such a short time. Looking for accurate throws and him stepping up in the pocket. Keep the turnovers to a minimum.

Listening to Bay Area sport talk radio. Host has a beat writer on for the Niners. They’re discussing the fact that Arians is falling for the same Gabbert hype that they fell for last year with the “he’s been on bad teams” line and that “practice Gabbert is not the same as game day Gabbert.”

Like they are going to say anything positive about him now that he is here.

SF was very much part of Arian's reference to 'bad ' teams

Read my earlier post, they will not move up on purpose to grab a QBOTF. If one falls they will take him provided he is rated that high on their board. This is standard operating procedure of this GM and HC. It isn't going to change. This is who they are. They truly believe they have a QB whisperer in Arians and they don't need no stinkin high draft choice QB. Arians will whisper him into a stud QB.
