Between this and playing guitar, I'm going to need to change my schedule a bit. I think my job needs to drop to about 10 hours a week. :D

tell me about it. I havent been able to play games at ALL and im not getting to log near the amount of guitar time I want. Right now I am getting 15-30 minutes every few days :(

i think this is a must buy for me. I am hoping that disney is up EA's ass to make a quality product.

Commence hype! I'm hoping for much of the same from Disney, and hope Dice learned from their recent f'ups. BF4 had major issues at launch, but DiceLA has cleaned it up nicely over the past year or so. This looked awesome though.

Beta is coming out early October. Also, it will be matchmaking instead of dedicated servers. I don't like that. Holding judgement until the open beta, but things are a little less awesome now. No ADS except on some weapons, 2 person squads, no server browser.

I dont mind matchmaking, it works well on COD. Looking forward to the beta.

So far beta has been meh. Last night it literally took 40 minutes before I could enter in a multiplayer game. I also could not join with a friend/partner. The scenery is pretty but the game mechanics and menus leave a lot to be desired.

I went (so far) from being a day 1 purchase to being on the fence with it.

Tonight was my first go, I've only tried the first multiplayer node so far but it connected very fast. Maybe they have patched it already.

I haven't tried with a partner yet but partner spawn could be a really cool feature

Played on both PS4 and PC.

PS4 looks pretty good and has decent framerate.

This game looks ungodly at 4k on PC. Can get it up to about 40-65 FPS at 4k, and 90-120 [more if I take settings down aggresively like to 150] at 1080p.

It's an amazing game.

It may be from EA, but it isn't a Battlefield clone. Make sure you grab everything around you to give you an advantage or you are cannon fodder.

Use the turrets, use the vehicles... buy the Star Cards, like the shield, the sniper, the jetpack, and thermal detonator.

What I like to do is...

Run towards the uplink (to either set as rebels or undo as empire) and see if I can get it. I try to set it up so that if someone shoots at me, I can use the jumpack in time to get right near the uplink. Then use the shield as I'm setting up or undoing the uplink.

This game is going to be great. Have it pre-ordered on PS4, but I will double dip at some point on PC. It's looks great, and it doesn't use too much more power as compared to Battlefield 4... maybe about 10-20 percent more power.

Can't wait to play the other modes and all the other maps. Drop zone is ok, but the Walker Assault is much more epic.

Got 56-13 one round :)

Oh EA multiplayer games also have an issue where sometimes they flood your router and screwup. If you have connection issues with ANY EA multiplayer game... I've experienced it with THIS, Plants Vs. Zombies Garden Warfare, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield Hardline... reset your router (unplug it, wait a few seconds, plug it back in... wait for everything to reconnect). [And this happens with both PC and PS4 games...literally has happen to both of each of those games as I have or tried the beta on all four of those games on both PC and PS4] This fixes my problems with EA online games.

The online is fun, for me it is not COD fun but I still like it.

I played the split screen with my son and had a good time with the one mode it lets you play too.

This is close to a must buy for me and might get me to finally play a different shooter than COD ghosts. Considering pre ordering it.

I still think it was a huge mistake to take out the space battles. However, damn this game is gorgeous. I mean the graphics are truly something amazing. There are some physics issues (hit detection) that needs to be fixed but I can't wait for this game. I just hope it ends up beings supported and they truly take the BETA and fix some issues versus releasing a buggy mess.

It will be supported, Dice is REALLY good at that. Not only did they fix most of the issues with BF4, but BF:Hardline released in a much, much better state.

There will be the season pass, but this will have a ton of content. Not just map packs, they generally also add more weapons, vehicles, etc. Plus these aren't CoD sized maps, these are from 4x CoD sized map to 20x the size. So they really are good maps.

But on top of it, do you see how Dice is supporting BF4? They are releasing more maps, for free, still now and in the future, and the season pass stuff was done over a year ago.

So yeah, they probably will support this game quite nicely.

Oh and in case no one has found out, they extended the beta another day!

I don't think they really wanted to take out space battles, I just don't think they have the development time to do them. Think about it, the license was just given to EA/Dice to work on not that long ago. Many games have 3-5 year development cycles. Not only that, they have to make sure it adheres to the Star Wars Universe (a success), make it different from Battlefield (a success), tie it into the new movie with the Battle of Jakku free DLC for pre-ordering, etc, etc. Thus they didn't really have the time to do the space battles.

I wouldn't count it out in the sequel, but this time around it's about getting their ducks in a row, making it good for what it is, and launching this fall near the movie release. Not really a mistake, more of a decision to limit the scope given the real constraints they faced to ensure quality and timeliness.

Also it is possible to defeat both AT-AT's on the first Y-wing raid. I've been on a team that has done it a few times. Also the Snow Speeders on the 3rd and last Y-Wing raid can take out both AT-AT's even if you haven't been able to damage them one bit up to that point. You could have each of the snow speeders take one AT-AT out, OR you can actually have one snow speeder take one out, and then take the other one out. It's very winnable from the Rebels side, you just need people to know what they are doing, and a beta isn't a good place to find knowledgeable people about a brand new game. (and also because it's free, and it's got the pull of star wars, you got a lot of people who have never played a multiplayer shooter before in these games)

The original developers were Pandemic Studios witch EA bought. They have had plans on the table for BFIII for some time. It just never came to pass until now. So, regardless where the rights were EA is not starting from scratch here and has a ton of experience with the franchise.

Regardless of the BF4 support, this franchise has been more churn and burn versus longevity with support. So, I am hoping that as you stated they treat the game much more like BF4. I just don't think that just because they support one franchise means they will give another franchise equal support. EA after all, does have a reputation for churning and burning.

Having said that, my biggest concern is releasing the game as a buggy mess. I played BF4 from day one and it was a freaking mess out of the gate and that game had a BETA. So, I am just really hoping they are working on a smooth out of the gate release verses taking the attitude we will just patch it after release (which seems to be a pattern as of late with developers).

Content wise.....I would imagine with the franchise being in Disney's wheelhouse and the upcoming movie....there will be a ton of movie related content to mine and put into the game. Not to mention the forums have fans clamoring for more varied era content.

Has it been determined if they will release a campaign mode?
