The Dallas Stars lost their sixth game in a row as the Detroit Red Wings came roaring back for four goals in the third period to win 6-4.

Dallas is limping into the playoffs, and limping might even be a nice way to put it. Their game has come apart at the seams, and the only silver lining is that all of these losses have meant nothing in the standings.

The Stars started the skid in second in the Central Division, set to play Colorado in the first round, and have not moved anywhere. They will still host Game 1 against the Avs once the playoffs begin.

Once again, Dallas rested Esa Lindell and Thomas Harley, leaving a group of defenseman on the ice that would fit right in on the San Jose Sharks rather than a 100+ point playoff team. And once again, it showed.

Dallas has given up 21 goals in its last 4 games, and has allowed 20 goals in the third period and overtime during the six game skid. It's enough to wonder if goaltender Jake Oettinger should even be out there or if the damage control he has to do will throw him off his game for when it counts.

Jamie Benn once again nearly had his 400th goal, but it ended up that Lian Bichsel fully pushed it across the goal line and took credit.

The Stars took a 3-2 lead to the second intermission after Evgenii Dadonov's 20th goal of the season, followed shortly after by a Colin Blackwell short-handed goal. The shorthanded goal was the Stars second in two games.

Dadonov becomes the eighth player for Dallas to score 20 goals this season, once again showing how deep the team scoring has been.

But Dallas gave up a lead once more in the third, something that was almost unheard of before their loss to Pittsburgh, but has been prevalent through the losing streak. Detroit fired off three goals in a row to go up 5-3.

Wyatt Johnston brought the game within one at 5-4, but an empty net goal by Vladimir Tarasenko sealed the win for Detroit on fan appreciation night at Little Caesars Arena.

Dallas finishes the regular season with one more game in Nashville Wednesday night, and then have to reset to get ready to face Colorado in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
