Start with run?

Should we run right off the bat or go for that ever-popular, week 1 reverse flea-flicker and go for the long TD right away?

I wouldn't mind a dive play to start it off at all. then the second play, play action deep pass to Boldin.

More than likely we will start off a little conservative until the energy dies down a bit.

However , if we come out and the are play bump......I challenge them. If they are playing off I'd throw a quick hitch to Boldin and maybe he can break off a big one right of the bat. It wouldn't have to be a huge play.....just one where he runs over 2 or 3 guys for a 20 yd gain. That would set the tone.

I'd call a formation consisting of Edge, JJ, BJ, Fitz and Q. Lineup 81 and 11 as twins on one side. Line the backs split in the back field. PA to Edge on the strong side, 32, 81 and 11 should drag LB and secondary coverage their way. Swing pass to JJ on the other side with 80 blocking. Gain of 7. Second and 3.

Prior to the preseason, I would have said we'd run play action pass on the first play of the game.

However, with our pass attack in full swing during preseason SF is going to be ready for it and we haven't been a "run first" team or even tryin to be so...therefore I would guess we will see a 3WR set and a draw play off of it, edge gaining 7 yards.
