Just got back. Was going to go see X-files but due to time constraints I saw this instead. Boy am I glad I did. This was absolutley fantastically FUNNY!

Will Ferrell has bounced back with a vengeance with this one. My stomach hurts and I was crying I laughed so damn hard! The chemistry between those two was unreal and the sheer vulgar comedy was great!

5/5

Step Brothers

Release Date: July 25, 2008
Studio: Columbia Pictures (Sony)
Director: Adam McKay
Screenwriter: Will Ferrell, Adam McKay
Genre: Comedy
MPAA Rating: R (for crude and sexual content, and pervasive language)
Website: StepBrothers-movie.com | MySpace.com/StepBrothersmovie

Starring: Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Richard Jenkins, Mary Steenburgen, Adam Scott, Katherine Hahn

Plot Summary: Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly star in "Step Brothers." Ferrell plays Brennan Huff, a sporadically employed thirty-nine-year-old who lives with his mother, Nancy (Mary Steenburgen). Reilly plays Dale Doback, a terminally unemployed forty-year-old who lives with his father, Robert (Richard Jenkins). When Robert and Nancy marry and move in together, Brennan and Dale are forced to live with each other as step brothers. As their narcissism and downright aggressive laziness threaten to tear the family apart, these two middle-aged, immature, overgrown boys will orchestrate an insane, elaborate plan to bring their parents back together. To pull it off, they must form an unlikely bond that maybe, just maybe, will finally get them out of the house.

The screenplay is by Will Ferrell & Adam McKay from a story by Will Ferrell & Adam McKay & John C. Reilly. Jimmy Miller and Judd Apatow produce.

Funny! Funny! Funny!

Just got back from watching this one and laughed through the entire movie. Wasn't the greatest comedy of all time but was definitely funny as hell. Stupid funny done right. I agree with Shane, Ferrell is BACK!

Finally a good comedy! Consistantly funny through the entire movie.

I give it a B+

Agree with both Shane and MadCard.....I was up at the RedRock in vegas and went to see it with my younger sister, her boyfriend, and his family. So we had a very wide range of ages and senses of humor....and every one of us was just amazed. I truly can't remember the last time I laughed that hard at a movie. I am going to see it here again the next couple days just because I am sure I missed alot of jokes. Overall though its amazingly funny and just a blast to watch. Not quite the movie plot of say an Old School or Anchorman, but just consistant laughing. Really enjoyed it. A

Just watched it. I don't quite share the enthusiasm presented in this thread, but I did find it pretty funny. A few of those scenes just killed me, flippin hilarious. I think they were able to squeeze out every possible joke from the situation. Just make sure you're in the mood to take nothing seriously.

Kathryn Hahn is ridiculously funny in that movie.

So, is Andrea Savage

"And, you are an enabler"

ya I think it's his best movie since Anchorman

If its anything like Anchorman, it will suck.. But then again, Shane doesnt like Anchorman and likes it.. Hhhmm.. I dunno which way to go.. Well, Shane and me seem to always like the same movies, so I'll follow Shane's advice here..

An easy kind of funny. Would have been disappointed in the theater. Perfect for movie channels.

This movie promotes child abuse, extramarital sex, and stupidity, all of which, in general, can be funny.

I give it a C+.

I thought this movie was just BLAH. Or just VERY blah. Somewhere in between, really.
