Im not, but that doesnt mean I cant criticize the concept of making an adaptation that has nothing to do with the source other than the name.

Thats like making a remake of the original Jurassic Park...with no dinosaurs.

Wow the early reviews are brutal it seems. Says, the problem isn't the acting. It appears to be everything else. The script, the pace and probably the directing.

They should have tightened up the screenplay to focus upon the first few books only...and not have gotten cute with the casting. This book series has a large and very long time, cult-like fanbase.

Typical modern Hollywood approach to take some quality material, dumb it down and try to sell it to the widest audience possible. Sounds like it backfired. Good.
