Really should have retired after his last year with the suns. I completely get why he didn't because he would have walked away from a lot of money

Great career by a great guy. It's too bad he had to go out this way. As Iceman pointed out, he should have retired after his last year in Phoenix.
He will always remain my favorite Sun, along with Barkley. The two guys who did so much with so little. It is amazing how great of a player he was.

My favorite Sun of all time as well. I wish we could have won him the ring he deserves but oh well.

Great career but sad he went out the way he did with the team he did. Thanks for the fantastic memories Steve.

He was an all star his last year with the Suns. Tough for me to see the logic here.

I guess this makes it official.

Good luck Steve Nash. Thanks for the great memories. I wish I could see you leave the game in a Suns uniform, however, you will always be a Sun.

I was hoping he would get waived/bought out by the Lakers so he could sign with the Suns to go out with Phoenix.

I guess it could still happen...

But, really, Steve not appearing on court in a Suns uniform again doesn't diminish what he meant to the Suns and to Phoenix.

At this stage, the Ring of Honor will fulfill that.

Thanks, Steve. And, hey, I'd rather see him as Mayor of his beloved Vancouver than having a job with the Lakers.

Interesting how he completely fell apart physically after leaving PHX. And I wonder if he would still be playing at a high level if he had stayed. (Not all-star level, but a 10/8 under 30 minutes level.)

Sad to see him go out like that, and with the Lakers. But it is what it is.

Great player.

The only basketball jersey I own says Nash on the back.

Class act on and off the court. All the best, Mr. Nash.

Interesting how the Cavaliers were interested in Nash until he retired. Nash essentially remains loyal to the Lakers and turns down the chance for a ring.

Which tells me he is hurting probably more than anybody realizes. Nash's entire career you could never accuse him of being lazy or not working hard. We all know what a tough SOB he was even when his back was horrible.

If he is retiring...that tells me his body is done. He must not think he can make it through a season any longer.

I think his body is done as well although the thought will linger in my mind that the Suns doctors might be able to get one more season out of him. The Suns could use a shooter and I would like for him to retire in a Suns uniform. Yes, I know it's not going to happen. I'm just hoping against hope.

I must admit that this backdrop just doesn't look right.
