No team trades up in the first round to draft a QB, THEN tanks and plans to force the rookie QB to learn a new system in his 2nd year!I assume his point is Keim didn't get fired because losing to get a better draft pick was probably part of the plan they think. So they hired a coach for one year to get a higher draft pick by tanking.
Wilks had the worst season and earned the only #1 overall pick in team history.But I do think there's a double standard in that Keim did a horrible job building that team and didn't lose his job over it
Keim was also responsible for that result, BUT had a 52-43-1 overall record as GM and was only a couple years removed from three 10-win seasons and two playoff appearances. So, there's a plausible and completely non-race-based reason why Keim was kept.
