The wife beater isn't very funny, his Mavericks get spanked every year and have won nothing just like he has.

they've been a lot more successful than our suns lately. i say we shut up and take it like men.

Jason Kidd, on the struggles of his former basketball team in Phoenix:

"The way things are going for the Suns, they have to sign Amaré (Stoudemire) now, even if he only has one eye."

Friends we are officially a punch line around the league.

Sounds like Kidd wasn't the only one ripping the Suns in Tahoe, this from the ever honest Barkley:

On the state of the Suns:

"They're not relevant anymore. They have a chance of making the playoffs, but they're not relevant. And I'll say this: I'm disappointed in the way things have turned out in Phoenix. The Suns, whether you want to blame (Robert) Sarver or (Steve) Kerr, they both have to take some blame. I'm disappointed the way things have happened. They're not relevant and now you really have to start over from scratch again."

:barf:

It's just painful to think about what has happened to the Suns, I just pray that the economy recovers to the point that Sarver can sell the team ASAP and we can move on and get an owner that is completely committed to winning.

If you really want to fee depressed check out this article from Billy about a year ago:

At least Barkley calls it as he sees it. Most of the time he has some truth mixed in with some hot air. My most poignant memory of Jason Kidd was when he flipped a finger at Phoenix fans when he came back as an opposing player. IMO, Kidd's remark was completely a cheap shot (regarding Amare) from a player that doesn't have very much class.

This article a year prior is ALOT more depressing IMO.

I didn't say it didn't. However, he's not a good gauge of the reality of the situation no matter what he says. He's just going with the flow most of the time.
Chuck's statement is not a good gauge of reality?

Do you watch or listen to Charles Barkley? Come on now. I'm not saying the Suns are in great shape, they clearly are not, but using Charles Barkley as an authority on the subject is crazy. You don't think so?

Truth hurts. :) I listen to as much of him as I can stand, but I think you are just biased against his bias. :)

i'd agree with that. barkley no longer has any real reason to harbor any hurt feelings with the suns. the ownership and leadership with whom he had his squabbles is gone. i think barkley is calling 'em as he sees 'em, and in this respect, he's dead on.

I don't consider Barkley as an authority period although he brought a ton of excitement to the Valley when he first arrived and brought the Suns close to a Championship. I listen to Barkley and Shaq mostly for entertainment value. I think Barkley has been knocking the Suns since he left Phoenix. Afterall, how could the Suns ever be any good again without him.

Come on. He was the 15th pick in the draft and was known to be a project. We have the most impatient fan base of all time.

Not really. All fan bases are like this in the internet age.

I have no problem with guys that I can see potential in. When Marion was drafted I had no problems waiting. When Amare was drafted, I had no problems waiting. I like the Clark pick and again have no problems waiting to see what happens. I see no such potential in Lopez.

So, from my perspective this is not about patience. I don't think Lopez will ever be a quality starter in the NBA. He will forever be an underachieving big man that should probably fill no more then a bench spot. Just my opinion.

Dragic showed me just enough last season for me to be patient. Lopez has just never showed me enough where I said he's definitely got it. When JJ arrived in Phoenix he had star written all over him. The same with Marion and Amare. LB showed immediate NBA potential as well.

Which is my point exactly. With all the guys you mentioned, I had seen some potential (although I am not sold on Dragic) and I had no problem waiting. I see no such thing in Lopez. Don't get me wrong though....I would love to be wrong on this one. Big man are hard to come by. I would love to be wrong, I just dont' see anything in the guy.

That's why that first summer league game was such a tease, even against the scrubs he was playing against.

DALLAS - Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is accused of wrongfully diverting millions of dollars from the NBA franchise’s home arena to help make up for cash shortfalls incurred by the team, according to a lawsuit filed by a company controlled by the team’s former owner.

The lawsuit claims Cuban covered the Mavericks’ financial shortfalls by obtaining more than $29 million in unauthorized loans through a limited partnership designed to distribute profits from the arena, the American Airlines Center. It accuses the Mavericks and three other companies controlled by Cuban of breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and unjust enrichment.

Well that Lopez bet was a stupid one TWO DAYS after I made it. I'll be regretting that one in about 9 months.

Looks like you won't have any problem affording it, though. It's already only 0.1% of your net A$FN worth.

Kidd has been very bitter about Phoenix ever since he left, like it's the city's fault he smacked his wife in the face. But even so, that's kind of a funny line.

I laughed too.
The generally sad state of this franchise is not perception....it's reality.
Personally i'm not embarrassed that we're not a contender anymore(it happens,we'll rebound from this).....i'm embarrassed at mgmt's lack of guts to just take one in the chin and start over... instead of this mentality of aging retreads thru past success and as a result running in place in the name of the almighty $dollar.
That's what makes me feel ashamed to be a SUNS fan right now.

Rightfully so IMO. Not because it was not time for him to go because it was. The reason is because he found out he was traded in a fast food line by a person behind the counter. That was a classless move IMO if that story was true.

I thought that whole thing was a little sanctimonious on Colangelo's part. If Joumana was willing to forgive and move on then why are the Suns going to play the part of defender of all that is good?

Of course hitting your wife is NEVER a good thing but those types of things should be taken on a case by case basis. If the Lakers had played the holier then thou card with Kobe Bryant would the have last years title?

IMO personal indescretion and professional atheletes careers should be seperated as much as possible until the results of those actions lead to jail time and court action (i.e. Mike Vick)

since colangelo took over the team from the drug issues of the 80's he had to enforce the very high morals of a large part of the valley (a large % of morman's) or risk loosing a large part of his season ticket holders and other backing.

in areas like LA or new york you wouldnt have a block with this much power unless you got into race issues.

I'm not doubting the accuracy of this statement but its a bunch of BS on JC's part.

Almost like extending your over the hill PG who runs a high octane offense to keep fans butts in the seat;)

Catering to the fans is what teams who pride ticket sales over championships do. When are organizations going to learn the bottom line...

If you win, they will come.

I don't questing JC motivation for moving Kidd. What I question is the method in which Kidd found out he was gone. Now supposedly, JC instructed someone else to inform Kidd yada yada yada and their was a breakdown in communication in the FO.

However, if I was Kidd or any other player, I would say the method in which he found out was classless on the organizations part and justified some level of bitterness.
