Tickets for ASU - UofA game are upwards of $2K, and close to $200 for the cheap seats. First time both teams have been ranked and played eachother since 1995.

I know I have never been so hyped about a rivalry game. I live in Tucson and have had to put up with nearly 30 years of UA lording over ASU in hoops. It will be tough to beat them here, and they do have one strong advantage personnel wise with Ayton... the one spot where I think they outmatch us. It will be very telling if ASU at least makes it a very competitive game... and stupendous to say the least, if we win on their floor.

UofA has been beaten by lesser teams this year, so I think we have a great chance to pull out a W. Hoping for a good hard fought game...with ASU pulling away in the final minutes :)

Honest question—-who’s going to successfully guard Ayton?

ASU does have an advantage in the backcourt. So they are going to have to do their best to harass UA guards into turning the ball over and keeping it on the perimeter, prevent entry passes, keep the game uptempo, hit their threes, etc. Basically, control the tempo of the game. I am not saying it will be easy, but that is their path to winning.

Sometimes guys get in foul trouble when guards are attacking them.

The early UA problems seemed to be really awful defensive positioning and rotations..... Everyone looked pretty lost in their system

ASU has the team to test those areas. Will be very tough though.

Neat to have ASU go into that game as the hunted.

If they win they start to look like a credible season story a opposed to a nice pre- conference storyline

If they lose they still have a decent amount of hope for conference play

The return of Rawle Alkins tilts this contest heavily in zona’s favor imo. There is a big size advantage for zona (what else is new), but their perimeter players are with alkins and Trier are big and a nice offense/defense balance. This will be a big challenge for asu. Excited to watch.

He clearly makes UA much better but it's the classic game of big team vs a small team that spreads you out and shoots the 3.

I think the interesting question is if the game is close will the UA guards have the will to stick to the game plan and pound it inside or will Trier(and Alkins) start jacking up 3's because the ASU guards are scoring and they want to match them.

It'll be a fascinating game, one of the more interesting matchups of the season.

Even with Trier and Alkins I think the ASU's backcourt gets the nod because Holder will destroy PJC. Hard to believe he was ranked 30 spots behind him in HS.

If Ayton and Ristic don't go Duncan/Robinson on their frontcourt it will say a lot about Hurley's coaching.

They lost a close one to UNLV a few days ago.

ASU is the last undefeated team in the country after losses by Villanova and TCU today. Good chance to move up to number 1 if they can win at U of A tonight.

I'd like to see ASU ranked #1 at least once by all the major polls.

Needless to say, this will be a difficult game to win especially in Tucson.

Go Devils!
