I love the new uniforms. Does anyone when they go on sale at the team shop at Sun Devil Stadium?

I don't like them, but I'm glad some do. I guess the thing is, if I didn't know that was supposed to be a pitchfork, I wouldn't know what that thing is.

Maybe its my monitor but does the maroon on that helmet look odd to anyone? It looks more like the maroon-ish color the Minnesota Golden Gophers use than ASUs maroon.

The stupid flames on the pitchforks and the mini handles are awful. They look like flaming hor dourves skewers. Additionally the black face masks look awful, should've been maroon. Everything about the new uniform and logos is just beyond embarrassing.

The new logo is growing on me. Especially after seeing those helmets. I think they look awesome.

Nope, winning doesn't turn bad design good. LSU wins a lot and their helmets are still atrocious. Oregon has been winning since becoming Nike U, doesn't make their Uni's good either.

I'm not big on change for change sake but I like the helmets quite a bit.

I didn't say winning would make them pretty.

What is up with the numbers on the black unis?

It looks like the printer ran out of ink.

Decide if you want gold numbers or white numbers. half and half looks dumb.

Other than that I like the new uniforms and the flat black helmets.

I guess my worry is that if ASU doesn't improve, they've sacrificed tradtion for nothing.

I'm not originally from Arizona, and I can honestly tell you this is a legend in the minds of ASU fans only. Talk with 95% of college football fans and they think of ASU as a second rate program. Sports are VERY much a "what have you done for me lately" and lately ASU has been terrible.

I attended ASU until I joined the Army, but I can tell you in no uncertain terms that there has been very little to be excited about. ASU's logos, unis, etc. don't hold the same weight as the Crimson Tide, the Longhorns, or even teams like the Georgia Bulldogs. So why keep them? They don't give any edge and no one outside of the ASU sphere gives a crap about the "tradition".

I know I talk for "younger" people, but a massive rebranding is a breath of fresh air and I'm more excited about ASU's future now. It looks like ASU is looking to change some of the systemic problems the sports programs have....now for fixing that supposed tradition that doesn't include any thing of significance, such as being a consistent PAC-12 champion or winning National Titles.

I think tradition is overrated and in general is a piss poor excuse whenever it's used. However, I dislike the black uniforms on their own merit. I'm also not very fond of the new pitchfork look. I'm hoping all of this will grow on me over time but right now, I'm not very impressed with any of the uniform changes.

As for being a second rate program, I think we all realize that. Other than USC and possibly Oregon, the entire conference falls into that tier or lower (assuming we're talking about football). And it might not be long before those two teams officially drop to the second tier. USC is just a scandal or two away from the death penalty and they have just the coach needed in order to insure that happens. And Oregon is not exactly a model program either.

But back to the unis, I'm all for change but change just for change sake rarely succeeds. They need to go back to the drawing board IMO especially if they want to recruit talented senior citizens. I have no idea how the kids will respond.

I thought the idea with the numbers might have been interesting, but I think the color change is just too abrupt. Might look better if they switched from gold to white over a longer distance, but I think they might be better off just switching to solid colors.
