Yeah, the guys at A Love Supreme told me I should take inspiration from Niall Quinn and live on Guinness.

So, I guess it'll be a little of that and a mixed bag of English lagers.

Again, thanks for the help everyone.

And the whole Cardinals-Sunderland thing never occurred to me. Jesus. Maybe I should start rooting for Barcelona or Real Madrid to balance it out.

Or root for Newcastle United instead ;)

I signed up for Setanta Broadband for just that reason. $12 a month ain't bad. And even if the video quality is *****, at least I get to see the game, eh?

I just got it, too. It's a pretty good deal, and all the games are available on demand within a day of the match. I've read rumors that they're going to be upgrading the quality sometime soon, but they're just rumors.

were we poor or were Liverpool good - a bit of both but still gutted.

Man Utd next week at Old Trafford so i think we get nothing there.

we plat Luton away in the cup throught the week so lets hope we geta few goals and a bit of wind up for the weekend.

I guess it will be over ther as it the 5-15 game here and live on Setanta. What with Keane going back to Man U it might be a 'main' game.

It is scheduled to be televised live on Fox Soccer Channel. I'll be watching, no matter how much it may hurt.

Carling Cup:

Luton Town 3-0 Sunderland

Complete and utter humiliation. The Black Cats beat Luton 5-0 at the end of last season. Why wasn't Gordon playing?

Injury to insult, guys; sorry about this.

Sunderland captain Dean Whitehead has been ruled out for six months with a cruciate knee injury.

The 25-year-old midfielder suffered the problem on the eve of his side's Barclays Premier League defeat at Wigan on August 18 and it was initially thought he would only be out for six weeks.

But Keane told Sunderland's official website after last night's 3-0 Carling Cup defeat at Luton: 'It looks as though Deano will need surgery in a couple of weeks.

'It looks like it's a cruciate so that would rule him out for six or seven months. It's been a bad day.

'It's a bitter blow for Deano and for us. We are missing his leadership qualities and his presence.'

Keane confirmed he will look to draft in a midfielder before the transfer window closes and also revealed he had been given permission to talk to Stoke defender Danny Higginbotham and Southampton striker Kenwyne Jones.

Keane said: 'I've been saying for a while that we need to strengthen and we'll look to speak to them tomorrow.'

As as Cards' fan, I am so jaded that this sort of thing doesn't really phase me anymore. :)

Three good signings today in Ian Harte, Danny Higginbotham and Kenwyne Jones. I think all three could figure in the squad against Man. Utd. on Saturday.

Yes, it is being carried live on FSC. I'll be watching, to the bitter end. :D

Even if the lads lose it will be great seeing them play. I'm anxious to see how the new signings will do. I haven't seen the Black Cats live since they lost at Portsmouth a couple of seasons ago.
